I've always thought that p81's Intrepid Class, while a great model with really accurate textures, was a little too white/silver to match the more grey coloured ones we've seen in DS9 and Voyager. Now that I've become more familiar with Photoshop I thought I'd have a go at altering the textures to match the on screen one, I was pretty happy with the results so I thought I'd show them here.

Here's a few pics to show what I've done, as always feedback is welcome :)

Awesome work Dan, if only the mesh was poly reduced as well you would have the the best Intrepid for Armada 2.

Thanks, yeah the model is high poly but sadly at the moment poly reduction beyond just deleting extra details is beyond me.

:lol2: Don't worry I won't put you through that again lol.

There's one or two details that need fixing and then I plan to release it :)

Sorry for the double post.

Due to the requests over on FF to alter the ships registry I've created a second version of the textures that have no registry at all on them:

If I can find the correct font I will attempt to do a Voyager registry version, so the final mod will contain 3 different texture sets:

Bellerophon registry
No registry
Voyager Registry

A double post is one that is done closely together, yours are about 12 hours away so it's fine.

As for the registery, it's great to have a no registery version for fleet production. As for adding the registery why not choose a font close enough and do both with the same font so they match?

I think (due to the texture change), that if I can get the polygon count of the model down, then this shall be the Intrepid to use in Zero Hour. ;)

Good Job Dan. ;)

Or you could retexture the one you are currently using with Dan's texture modification. ;)

Thanks Ash, I was hoping you'd say that ;)
:lol2@

A good idea, though it comes with a rather significant problem. In order for me to take this course of action, I would first actually need to have an Intrepid model. ;)

I've not got one yet. Haven't been able to decide on which model to use (no surprise on the deciding there).

Ash I have seen ZH screenshots with an Intrepid in it, it's the same one that Fhares and Ryan released sometime ago in the community, a SFC3 conversion. I am actually looking at that model for the MSFC Dom mod, I can get it down to about 2000 pollies but need to readjust some of it's textures on the bottom of the aft section other than that it's great.

Well besides the P81 Intrepid theres also the Deamon one in BIVR. She should already meet your poly restriction.

Thanks, but never was a fan of the textures, none the less I managed to get a SFC3 one down to a good poly level. :)

I can't wait to see that, as the stock models greatest flaw are their textures, most of the meshes are prefectly fine.
