Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
You should know that Australia is noted in that P.S.A Maj @ 2:33 mark
I was raised with guns in the house. I was also taught the value of life and how to handle and use said guns safely. These lessons are no longer being taught.
I am glad that it seems the laws in Australia are working for them. I just don't think that they will work here in the US. For the simple fact that the US has something that Australia don't........shared borders. The people that are crying the loudest for the worst kind of gun control measures don't want to secure our borders either. In my opinion, you can't have one without the other.
What most people don't understand about our second amendment is that too many people think that it was to give us the right to own guns for hunting. It's actual intent is to protect our rights to own firearms to defend ourselves from any threat to our freedoms which includes our own government if necessary. It was intended to give the citizens the means to keep the government in check and prevent an elite class from ruling the whole in the way that Imperial Britain ruled the colonies.
With respect to you in regards to the handguns over rifles statement. The gun that I own is a British 303 Sport bolt action rifle with a 3 round clip. I could do more damage with a handgun than I could with my rifle.
Yes it's a good law to have. I fully support that. It's just a shame people who shouldn't have access to guns (people who use them against innocents) can get access to them. This is the problem that needs to be stopped. How to stop these people getting access to them. Mentally ill people, criminals, people who are on the FBI watch list etc.
