• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Hello all,

While work on my YY shipyards I have come across a snag. I have been trying to get it so ships will not repair at the yard. I have made sure I have not included a "repair" hardpoint on the model, and that I have the "can_repair = 0" command in the odf file and that I don't have the "repairHardpoint = "repair"" command in the odf file.

I have even gone so far as looking into Westworld's Big Book of Modding and other mods such as BIVR to see if I have missed anything and I can't see that I have. Yet the ships still go and repair at the shipyards.

Does anyone have any possible solutions that I could've overlooked?

Maybe make it a starbase instead of a shipyard?

That sounds like it should do it. I have an idea if it doesn't; put a second slipway model ofset from the main one and put the repair point there. That way ships build in one and repair in the other.

Thanks Adm_Z, it never occurred to me to do that. Reason I didn't want to add a repair bay to the shipyards, is that I have a yard designed just for repair due to the size of the Gorn Battleship. It's huge compared to say a Constitution class.

But it works now, thanks both you your for replying to the thread. :)

Add this to the yard:

repairFacility = 0

...and remove "can_repair = 0".

I can't remember where I found the line, but it helped when I wanted a race with a dedicated construction yard and a dedicated dry dock.

Y'know sometimes it is amazing what we can get the Old Girl to do. Twelve years on and I still get surprised once in awhile. If ever there is an Armada 3 released, the devs will find all the good stuff has already been done and is available. Awwww! lol

Thanks Cabal, that worked too. Just goes to show that Westworld's Big Book of Modding doesn't have everything. I might have to update the PDF version I did a while back and add this one in. :)
