It has been announced that Patrick Steward will be returning to his role of Jean Luc Picard in a future Star Trek series. This has been announced by CBS and confirmed by Steward.

Why stop at Dorn? I hope we get all of the TNG crew, along with appearances by the DS9 and VOY crews!

Wowzers, between Clone Wars coming back, this is just icing on the cake!

Cautiously optimistic. Fingers crossed we see the Enterprise-E at some point...

The original Teen Titans may be getting a new season, too, if you're into that. Combo all this with the recent finale of Samurai Jack and it's like someone decided to just revive all the best shows from my childhood. Of course, ReBoot should have stayed dead with how the new one turned out.

Very true, just a big fan of Worf here, probably my favourite main character in all of Trek.

But yes I'd love to see like an Admiral Janeway, etc. I hope they take inspiration from the novels.

Be careful what you wish for, they might decide it's not cool enough for a modern audience and reimagine it...

I am cautiously optimistic about this announcement.

I am not the biggest fan of the TNG era series since I feel the Federation became too sissified in attitude and structure but I am a huge fan of specific characters and actors from these series and Sir Stewart is at the top of that list.

I am definitely keeping an eye to see where they take this new series. Then again, I am not gonna pay for the streaming service so I'll just have to wait for the entire season to be over and then see if its worth getting the blu ray.
