Thanks! I am currently planning to do an upswept winged version of this ship as well. I did this ship many years ago and the poly count exceeded 6000. I couldn't believe I actually got this on down under 2K.

I thought the design looked familiar. The fact that you brought the poly count down to less than one third of the original and it still looks fantastic is a testament to how much you have improved over the years. +Rep to you.

Good to see you here mate.
I've always been a fan of the one in your avatar. I use it as my Romulan flagship.
This new one has similar lines, I like it:)

A very interesting design, what program did you model this in?

I am a tired and true Milkshape fan. :) I have tired Max several times but for some strange reason I just can't get the feel for the program. You guys host most here as well? I am still getting a feel for the sites layout but didn't see any place to submit work for hosting.

Same here MS3D all the way, Lightwave and 3DMax are quite complicated after using MS3D for so long.

For submitting files for hosting, just email them to files@msfc.com.au and one of our 5-6 file uploaders will get it it asap.

Hellkite,

I have already had my eye on a few of them. I see others are working on some too.

Hello:
Those are awesomely-looking meshes, with such small poly-count for those shapes, that is sure something you don't see very often.

keep it up with the grat work! .

Started to work on the mapping a bit. This pic should give you an idea of how this birdie will looked as the texture begins to shape up.

For comparison purposes I thought I'd post up another of Atolm/Azel's designs I modelled a while back. Unfortunately, I wasn't as lucky in the poly count with this one as she weighes in at 6175 polys.

Oh and if any of your are interested, let me know and I'll submit this one to the downloads section.

Didn't feel much like texturing (can you tell I drerad that part) so I played around with a support fighter concept.

Now I wonder if fighters need nacells? Your opinions on the fighter are welcomed and appreciated.

Haha, those are cool. They look like little pterodactyls. I don't think they need naclles, but I think the main section should be more square instead of cylindrical. just my opinion.

I dread the mapping more than the texture creation myself.

I agree on both parts here. An excellent job Pepperman. I really like the direction you have taken these fighters this far.

More square as in something along these lines. The rear of the ship doesn't look right to me so it will certainly need to be tweaked.

Took a little break from Hellkite's Rapax class and worked on this one a bit more. Thought I'd try a lower wing and nacell combo to see how she looked.
