• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Normally I don't dwell on post counts as in the long scheme of things it's not really important.

But I thought some of you should be aware that new have a new second highest poster. Syf our second Administrator has passed Iccky roughly 150 posts ago.

Thank you for the mention. I have worked hard to get to this level.

That's exactly what happens when someone fades out (doesen't visit as often), another comes up and takes your thrown...

Yes he has over the past year jumped to warp. Helps when this site is your homepage and internet home.

As for him over posting me, if that happens he deserves a medal, personally post count doesn't bother me but since we post roughly the same amount of posts a day I don't think it will happen for a while. :lol:

I know that I will not pass Syf or Majestic in posts ever. Although my posts per day is up the last couple months.

Well, there is always the fight for the third place spot. I suspect it may become a post feast if too many people want that spot.

The hard one to catch would be Majestic. He's 5,000 posts ahead of me even. At over 8,500 posts, it is a lot to catch up to.:)

Just remember if your (addressing all members) going to post on somethinjg, it actually has to be a post, not just a quick 5 worded remark, as those don't really count.

I don't think anyone here is ever gonna catch Majestic. Unless he loses internet access for like 3 months.
so no amount of daring is going to work on that front lol.

gotta agree with the comment about spam posting - i've seen a few boards killed off by that because of people putting silly one word posts. which granted is less of a problem here, with a minimum post size.

Indeed. Spamming will be treated with swiftly by the Staff here. And I will reduce the post count on anyone that does make such an effort.

I think more like 6 months to a year is more like it. Majestic will be at 10,000 by the time I reach 5,000.

Thats a good thing - keeps things nice and tidy. and more conductive for discussions too thinking about it. spam posts in discussions break up the thread of things - thats thinking more specifically like if someone made a post with a good 'argument' or theory about a plot twist, or the continuation of something (for example a discussion about what would happen next in deep space 9 following the crew seemingly going their separate ways for the most part), that could be lost if it was surrounded by spam posts that people were ignoring. which is something we don't want - like I said, its been seen to kill off a couple of forums i used to visit, and to an extent I think has occurred with the ship request thread over on GF where some people just post requests for ships without even looking to see if they are available for download already.

and I don't know... certainly for anyone else to catch up with Majestic, it'd take that long of an absence, but i think you could do it in 3-6 months of his absence - but thats based purely on in that circumstance you'd be the only active admin, and would thus presumably have to do all the feature upgrades and telling members about what changes have been made and why etc.

its all hypothetical though... i think its very unlikely (fortunately) that Majestic would ever be without Internet access for that long

Heaven forbid Majestic to go without visiting his site every-so-often. But as far as Upgrades, I leave that in his capable hands, so it would go that long without any updates. But day to day watching the site, I do that anyways since he's working lots of hours lately. But even so, I still don't expect to exceed his post record anytime in the next couple years. So for now, I will be in my "rightful" place as Second highest poster.:angel:

and you cant say much more than really lol. it is a very inprobable future that anyone will get more posts than Majest.

I wonder if we could get a bookie to set odds on it lol...

That is something I would bet on. Besides, anyone after Majestic's number one spot has to pass me first. That's almost 2,000 posts between 2nd and 3rd place currently.

But anyways, I hope this encourages members to post more often. It's nice to see activity here. But I'm not giving up my thrown without a fight.:lol:
