A little something I decided to do to take a break after everything that has happened recently. RJB's Tempest from Stargate, he was also find enough to share with me his high poly and lower poly WIP version of his model to make it easer for me to get the design right.

Really impressive stuff mate! Especially given how quickly you seem to have made such a high quality mesh  Will you be texturing her as well? *crosses fingers*

Wow, I'm impressed
This is one that I was going to attempt... when I pluck up the nerve. Its far more complex than initially appeared, so again, an impressive job .

Whats the count if you dont mind my asking?

Great work Majestic, you really have done the low polygon version justice.

Well RJB's WIP version of his model really helped in that endeavour.

Yes I plan to texture and release her. I want to get a couple of more Stargate models completed first. Some Earth and some Ancient.

I am with you on that, the Earth ships look awesome, and still don't look alien. That's one thing I liked about Stargate, each race/faction has unique designs, even though many used backward engineered Ancient tech such as the Gou'ald and Earth.

Indeed it is a complex model but one of my favourite fan designs and so she had to be the first Stargate design to try.

4368 is the poly count. I build her with Fleet Ops in mind.

Great work Majestic, you really have done the low polygon version justice.

Thank you RJB, I tried to put as much detail in as I could allow. 4-5k was my aim and it came out fairly ell. :D

She's a beauty, looking forward to her

Thanks Knight, I am glad you approve!

Tau'ri Naquadah Refinery

Basically this design refines and strips asteroids of Naquadah, similar to the collection unit stations of the Borg.

This model is actually one by Sol Command, used with permission and heavily reduced in poly count. I am also hoping I can animate the asteroids to rotate.

Dude, looks great! If you can get those asteroids to animate, that'd be awesome, not gonna lie.

Looking forward to seeing your Daedalus, when you get to it.

Sure send them my way I am sure I can find a use for them, if not they may make it a little easier to make my own versions of. I am hoping after I get a few more models complete to texture some and release them for you guys to play with.

Hello:
Those are very interesting Stargate meshes you have there. I am very impressed with your reduction of the Tau'ri Naquadah Station, specially because you are finsing nice designs to work with.

Keep it up!

Well after taking a break from the Ancient ship I took a stab at a canon design, took me the better part of a day to do but I am pretty happy with the results. The Daedalus class is such a import design in Stargate that sooner or later I would finding myself modelling her. She is 6640 poly's, which is pretty good considering it looked as she was going to be closer to 8k. My aim was pretty much to have her around the 6-7k mark so not bad at all. :)

Looks great so far man, loving it! And that's a pretty decent poly count considering some of the complex parts of the design.

I too was surprised, considering at one point it was over 7k and I re-built some parts to bring her down.

I am glad you like her, another ship to add to my Stargate Collection of completed designs.

That is by far the best Daedalus model usable in A2 that I've seen, top work mate

Very nice. And yes, it is somewhat shocking how easily the poly count racks up considering at first glance the Daedalus is a brick!

Sweet ride man can't wait to see here done:cool:

Thank you all, yeah the Daedalus is one big brick. Most of those poly's actually go into the engines and main hull, the plate, hangars and armour details are pretty low in comparasion. Here are some images of a rough scale between the Daedalus and the Tempest.

TempestandDaedalus01.pngTempestandDaedalus02.pngTempestandDaedalus03.pngTempestandDaedalus04.png

I'll probably scale up the Tempest a little, it's just a rough scale there.

Now I have the Daedalus done, I can do the ship I've been really wanting to do, it's a Tau'ri hybrid design that uses design elements from the Asgard and Ancients all in one design. She is a more advanced version of the Daedalus and I see her as an attempt to modernise the Daedalus, as this design would be set probably another 20 or so years down the line, after the conclusion of Atlantis.

I don't think your scaling for the tempest is that far off. (here is the old scale chart I made)

I'll also be sending the last two requested models over the weekend.

Thanks RJB, from that it's looks as if I got it pretty close, not bad for a shot in the dark.

Thanks I look forward to them, I think I'll probably take a crack at all the designs on that scale chart. Boost up the Tau'ri fleet. Pretty much every design I have in the works are designs you've done, with the exception of two, one being a upgraded Prometheus class and the other is similar to your Phoenix but well different.

Currently I am working on the Bomber design of yours.

Thanks mate, I also responded to your email, both ships you sent shouldn't take too long to complete actually. I might jump on those now and come back to the bomber afterwards.

Taking a break from the Ancient Bomber, I managed to get this done thanks to the email from RJB, the Fenrir Scout/Patrol Ship. I personally would use it as a scout ship in-game.

Looking really good.

With the Phoenix I sent a concept design for the engine configuration.

Thank you RJB, I plan on using the more standard engine configuration for the Phoenix, I plan another similar design that will use a different engine design more like the concept design you've suggested. I am in the process of getting your phoenix mesh to fit in with my Daedalus mesh so I'll only need to build the Phoenix unique parts, rather than the entire mesh. Plus makes it easier for texturing.
