Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
I didn't know EAS had done anything like that. I can understand it though - it is certainly an intriguing concept and one that allows almost unlimited creativity what with the ever changing face of politics and whatnot
Aye Homeworld can be a fickle platform. I like how easy some of the things are though - I gave my interceptors missiles that are only fired at capital ships; I wouldn't know how to start doing that in Armada.
I am just curious: Have you found time to further pursue this project?
As for the validTargets and whatnot - you learn something new every day, I'll have to remember that
tis sad that the Uni. is taking your time, but I hope, once you get a routine going, you can make time for the mod, because I am definitely looking forward to anything you can produce.
I forgot how annoying it was to go to three lectures in one day all on different topics. That's what I get for taking joint honours I suppose
better than 8PM
Algebra I know nothing of - but ot can't be any harder than a round of philosophy, literature and ancient history.
Yeah, you put the line in the weapon odf. not the ordinance, but the first. you can then make it so that
validtargets = 1
"BSG_fighter_raider.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_raiderA.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_viper_mk2.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_viper_mk2A.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_viper_mk7.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_viper_mk7A.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_blackbird.odf" 0
"BSG_fighter_blackbirdA.odf" 0
"BSG_raptor.odf" 0
"BSG_raptorA.odf" 0
"BSG_heavy_raider.odf" 0
"BSG_heavy_raiderA.odf" 0
And all the exceptions with the 0 mean that they are not valid targets. You can do the same so that it can target nothing but one ship, or something. Very useful.

I think that's still an FO only command mate . At least in the WiP modding guide, it's listed under FO-only commands .
Looks very nice - just waiting to see some sign of how the thing will stabilize itself

Just was commenting as it was a very 'aerodynamic' fighter - not to mention all rear-mounted engines, or so it seems . However, if realism isn't the aim, then carry on by all means, it looks great!
