Right, well, today I spent an hour or two messing around, trying to come up with new old Star Trek vessels, since I saw the film it kinda grabbed my imagination a little.

This is my first draft and first model, I haven't even opened my programs for months, so please excuse the rough edges.

Presenting the USS Litany (working title)

I agree, many fans are moving back to the 23rd century with their modelling endeavours.

Right, Here is the nearly finished model (Requires Textures and the like, aiming to release it for Legacy)

USSLitanynew.jpg

The USS Litany is a Miranda Refit, specifically augmented for border patrol and deffence. The Litany Refit is also designed for long period of operation, without resupplying, allowing it to double up as a Long range Recon vessel as well. The Litany houses a crew of 200, the rest of the space in the vessel is storage and workshops. The Vessel itself is armed with phasers only to further help keep its need for resupplying down. However, it does have an increased arrayof phasers to counter any deficit of attack power.

I love it  looks like someone put the Kelvin and the Enterprise together and came up with a middle ground.

Looking forward to seeing her textured ;)

Very nicely done, with that poly count size it would be best for Legacy as it's too high for Armada 2.

I like this one, you've done a great job on her.

why thank you majestic, I am rather proud of her!

Just one question for you all, shoul i include a roll bar? sometimes when i look at it i think the top of the saucer looks a bit bare.

Do both. Wasn't there a Miranda type without a roll bar?

Looks like someone needs a TMP fan/expert, well here I am.

Over the years there have been several variants of the Miranda and they are listed as follows:

USS Miranda: The original version of this little (although at the time not so little) ship. She has the roll bar, phaser cannons and a rather easy to overcome Captain.

USS Lantree: Seen in a TNG episode, basically just like the Reliant, just without the rollbar and phaser cannons.

USS Saratoga (2): Not the one from ST4 the Voyage home, the one from the pilot DS9 episode that Sisko was on at Wolf 359. Just like the Lantree with two phaser cannons/sensor thingys (open to fan artistic licences) on the port and starboard sides of the saucer.

USS Bozeman:
This beauty known as the Soyuz class was seen in the TNG episode of the timeloop where the Enterprise-D and the Bozeman kept having a collision until Data saves the day. This vessel has hull extensions and sensor spikes/phaser cannons (open to fan's preferences) all over here.

USS Majestic: What a awesome name for a ship. This vessel is just like the Reliant, except the rear torpedeo launchers on the rollbar are replaced by impulse engines and she has upgraded warp grills that glow blue instead of being that standard black. She was in the DS9 episode Favor the Bold in the 6th season of DS9.

Nicely done so far Jeddy, I really like it :)

I admit I preferred the Kelvin to the new Enterprise when i went to see it. Still it has me wondering what they are going to do when they go TMP era. If they do of course. I can't wait to see what they do with my faverite era of ships. A little nervous as well lol. Anywho thats besides the point.

Great jeddy can't wait to see her textured etc.

well, sadly as i still have the texture-creating skills of a goldfish i have resorted to just models,

(Note, my models will be free for anyone to use, shud they feel like taking ont he textures, just email/pm me and give me credit! :p)

I was inspired by the thread regarding the constitution class.
( The Constitution Class - Majestic Sci-Fi Central )

And as such i decided to make my own "This is what NCC-1701 would have looked like if ent actually came first" type constiutution, im sure its one of a million out there, but i rather like what ive done and i think ive combined the 2 designs well.

What do you think?

Hmm, with the 'Enterprise' style saucer, it actually ends up looking like an excelsior class... still, looks good.

If you can apply textures (ones that ready done, not need making), you might want to ask Maj about using his from the NW/NZ classes here.
