• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hey everyone, just a new guy passing through. (Happy 4th to all the American folks out there; just waiting for festivities to begin.)

I found this site while looking for some 3D resources, as I'm sure many others have. In my case it's been the missing parts of the elusive Coxxon's low-poly BSG ships. One of my hobbies these days is creating homebrew games for Tabletop Simulator, and the latest is a Battlestar Galactica wargame based on the reimagined series. Though I did manage to snag some of Coxxon's models (without even being told who had made them in the first place), the roster is incomplete, and some of the missing ships ended up in the resources section here.

Having read the thread about it, I understand why there's a tight restriction on downloading anything. It isn't my intention to steal or sell things made by others; heck, it didn't even occur to me that selling others' models of official ships was a thing until I read that post. All the same, if anyone would be willing to lend a hand in helping me source those missing Coxxon models, or even take part in the ongoing development and playtesting of the game, you're more than welcome to join me and my little group that intends to begin playing it soon. It certainly isn't the first nor will it be the last scifi homebrew that I've designed.

There wouldn't happen to be a Discord server or some other such thing being used, is there? I'm afraid the forum looks a bit quiet from out here, so I'm hoping there's a catch.

Hello there, welcome to the site.
We have our ups and downs, I've actually found it interesting to see a lot of internet communities go quiet at a time when everyone is stuck at home. Part of the issue is undoubtedly the lack of new blood, the majority of work here was for Armada, which is now a very old game. But don't let that put you off.
It is unfortunate but the downloads section shouldn't take long to reach, the restrictions are more a speedbump than a vault.
If you're interested in BSG then chiletrek is actively working on models at the moment, I suggest looking up his thread.
I've seen tabletop simulator mentioned before and have actually considered getting it for online x-wing/attack wing games. I hadn't even considered the possibility of modding it but it sounds interesting, so feel free to start a thread to document your experiences. Who knows, you may start a whole new modding trend here.
Anyway, look around, get involved, don't feed the animals.

Thanks, will do on all counts. Would a general TTS thread be more appropriate, you think, or should I focus on this BSG project specifically?

If it were me I'd do a project specific thread and if discussion moves to TTS in general start a separate one. But it's entirely up to you. I don't know how intertwined things are.

Hello:
Welcome to MSFC! I hope you'll find yourself at home here, also, @kjc733 , did you summon me? :D .

I used to have lot of the BSG models made by myself too but I lost most of them due to a real-life catastrophe, but I am slowly working on that again. But it is true that Coxxon's files are a great starting point for every TRS BSG fan! I just wish he made a thiord pack with ships like the Valkyrie and the Resurrection ship though.

Thanks for the welcome fellas.

TTS is way more than just my BSG project. It's just that there's no "BSG games" subforum, and the Creative section seems mainly for art. Ah, categorical problems...

Hello:
Remember what was the objective for this forum, and I suppose no forum will have every category available, just new ones are created if the need arises. But I am sure an admin will soon see your topic here and guide you.
