• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Greetings All

I am a writer, Sci Fi being my primary, but not only genre. I grew up on Star Trek and hence am very picky when it comes to Sci Fi shows. I feel to many are glitz and gadgets with no real substance.

I am a fan of Star Trek in all it's permutations, maybe not DS9 (I am not a depressing, brooding person) as well as other well crafted shows, Space:1999, Sliders, the Stargate shows. I reserve judgment on the reimagined BSG as I still haven't been able to make it past those first dreadfully boring 30 minutes. So far the only things I found interesting are the Vipers Mk II and VII.

I have never been to a convention, but to expand the reach of my writing, I am planning on setting up a booth at one in the near future. If you speak Klingon, or dress up as an Andorian stay back. I Will beat you with an olive loaf. Contrarily, if you are female dressed as the Green chick from "The Cage" or particularly the red headed green chick from Star Trek 2009, please approach.

Yay, more writers! Welcome to MSFC, have fun!
I have done some writing myself, though I am more comfortable with my native language.

Always good to see someone new join the community! Just steer clear of the gift shop; last I heard, the tribbles they have for sale have gone rabid and are attacking things other than Klingons. But if you do stop by there, could you pick me up an apple fritter?

Thanks All,

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I think this will be a great site for me. Of course any site that is dedicated mainly to Star Trek has a built in advantage.

Cheers

"Olive loaf"? I like your style already. It is enjoyable to meet someone who isn't afraid to display weapons of mass destruction as a friendly warning. Welcome to MSFC! Hope you enjoy the stay and if there is anything I can do, please ask.

BTW, is your username descriptive of your job title?

Hey

Thanks guys,

My username is descriptive of my former job. I am a retired now, so I do a lot of military Sci Fi to make up for it.

Welcome to the site. Do you plan on posting some of your writing work here? :)

Hey,

Thanks, actually I haven't had time to look around the site, so I hadn't considered posting my work.

My work doesn't really represent the Roddenberry universe. While I am a cheerful optimistic person, one may get the impression that I am a dour, cynical individual who can't wait for a good nuclear exchange or a pandemic of Biblical proportions.

Once I get the feel of the site I will probably post some of my lighter pieces. The ones in which only a few people die. Those are generally my comedies.:lol2:

Thanks for asking, and thanks for the welcome.

Another one, eh? Its getting like a veritable veterans day parade in here! Next thing you know, it'll be all corn whiskey, beans and swapping old war stories 'round the ol' camp fire... I'm in - but I don't actually have any war stories of my own...

Welcome! I always enjoy reading the excellent fiction that gets posted here, and I'm sure, should you choose to post some work here, it shall be no exception!
