• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well here I am after many years of searching for a site that offers a general sci-fi discussion that does not devolve into a thread-jacked discussion on whose super weapon is the most destructive in just about every thread.

I do not have a specific science fiction that I prefer though there are many shows, movies, books, games that I have watched, read, played like Star Trek(orig, TNG, VOY, DS9, RPG), Babylon 5, Stargate, Shadowrun, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (orig, 2003). Those are just the tip of the iceberg as there are many others. for RPG's I do have a favorite type the old school pen & paper games.

Welcome! You've chosen the right site since we never talk about fictional superweapons. Well, we usually don't. Okay, there are only three or four threads that aren't about superweapons.

Welcome mate, most of us are fans of multiple sci-fi series and so we are bias of both sides of the discussion, hence why they don't really come up. It's great to see you here and if you ever need hekp please feel free to ask. Those of us with the coloured usernames are Forum Moderators, Site Managers and Administrators.

Welcome to MSFC ravenkohl, Hope you enjoy your time here, we have a pretty friendly community and no trolls lurking about, if they try, we usually get rid of them pretty quickly with Hellkite's awesome Ban Hammer ;)

Welcome to MSFC! I am glad you came to join us. While there are very few trolls about, (The MSFC EPA officially lists them as an endangered species. "Look! Another one! PULL! BLAM! Got 'im!") we are all rather highly skilled at thread jacking. ADM_Z, CABAL, Hellkite, and myself are the worst offenders at this. I suggest you place us on your Ignore list immediately, and never, ever feed us after midnight.

You mentioned you are a fan of many scifi shows and series and don't have a particular preference. I was recently tied to a chair by my girlfriend and forced to watch - Twilight. All of them. One after the other. With no popcorn and no bathroom breaks. I have come to enjoy them immensely. The angst and pathos of emotionally disconnected and disenfranchised undead teenagers and their lycanthrope friends struck me in a very touching manner. Their trials and pain and struggles mirror my own perfectly. I am at peace with the Universe now. Because I know there are fictional characters in books and on film whom I feel a very deep kinship with and would willingly trust with my bank account and my new puppy.

We really are not trying for anything other than to make people smile a bit after a long day at work. Kidding aside, welcome! Pull up a chair, trawl the forums, and post with reckless abandon in everything and anything which catches your fancy!

I'm not entirely sure how much of that was sarcastic and how much of that was serious. I believe the first part is at least 74% serious but I'm not sure about the rest of it.

But it was so tasty!:yum: Actually, I'm still working on it. I've got four wings laid out but I suspect that I need more room to work with. On the bright side, I got the Lab 3 region worked out.

And hopefully this thing goes back on topic soon. We don't want to make bad first impressions now, do we?:lol:
