I've used FO material in stock A2 before, but now trying the Borg and having issues with textures. I copy all the sods and textures, but in game most of the ship is fine however, some edges are just bright colors. If I turn bump mapping off in the graphics menu it goes away, but leave just flat gray in place of those bright colors.

Does anyone had any ideas of why the textures don't just appear as they do in FO? I'm uncertain as to what is causing this issue? I tried deleting all the _1, _2 and _3 textures so it leaves only base texture, but that didn't help either.

My experience with the FO models is pretty "hands-off" when it comes to their stuff. The Borg are definitely one of the tougher ones.

I do remember Dan1025 getting them to work for his pictures back in the day. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while.

That name is a blast from the past. How I miss 10-15 years ago over on FF when everyone was posting in the forums and things were new and exciting in Armada modding. I'm glad some of you stuck around and are here still.

As for FO, yeah I know what you mean. I thought it might be the bump maps, but I have plenty of other stuff that uses them and they display fine. Maybe I'm missing a texture that I forgot to copy over, but I don't think so? It can't be sprite based so.....ugh I'm stuck.

This seem you forget the black.tga.
The colored parts are normally black.

Well, there was no black.tga, but there was an empty.tga. I've poured through the Fleet Ops SOD's and textures and finally got it all working. The only remaining issue now is that the light green textures that appear through holes in the Borg hull are a darker medium green sort of like a Romulan color.

Even though the FO texture is clearly the lighter Borg green it displays in my game as a darker green. Very strange. Would anyone know what could alter the color of a tga to be a different color?

Darn, just past the edit time. At any rate got it figured out. The teamcolor.odf file was the key. Once I changed the color value of Borg there to match the FO values it displayed the proper color on the ship texture.

It's fascinating learning how things all tie together. Who'd have thunk it? :)
