• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Same as the favourite Klingon thread, who is your favourite Cardassian in Star Trek?

I have a few that come to mind:

Garek, the tailor former Obsidian Order operative. He see's the galaxy how it is, harsh and unforgiving.

Seska, from Voyager. The Cardassian agent within the Maquis who betrays Voyager and joins the Kazon and eventually masterminds the Federation ships capture.

My ultimate favourite is Damar, bad guy turned good guy. I liked Damar from the moment I first saw him in season 4 on Gul Dukats freighter. It was a shame he died freeing Cardassia.

My favourite in general has to be Garak. Like you said, he sees the galaxy as it is. Also he has a mysterious style, which he seems to use for his own amusement (his conversations with Bashir in the early episodes, for example).

Garak was good, witty, and sarcastic, but ultimately, has to be Damar. I wouldn't say he turned bad to good though, ultimately, he was never a bad person, he was just doing the best he could, the way he saw it, for his people.

There can be no greater drive than that, especially for a Cardassian. I think also, that Dukat had great potential to be a real good guy through to the end of DS9, but ever since he joined the Dominion, that went down hill pretty quickly.

that is sortt of my opinion Dukat was one of those people who you couldn't exactly pin down.

but he was definitely mroe fun than most.

all that said i still prefer the darker version that caught and interrogaated Picard

Aye.. that's the one.

he was the first Cardie we saw and easily one of the deepest. A conflicted distillation of the Cardassian story, raised starving on the streets and grown strong through war and violence, willing to hurt and torture to get what he needed...

by comparison GArrek was a fluffy tribble who played at being nasty.

There are Five lights!

Damar was my faverite because he was a person who was very loyal and even though he killed dukats daughter he was still a good guy. I was really annoyed that they had him killed off at the end as he was the kind of person I think could of gotten cardassia back on track plus the poeple thought of him as a great hero (which he was).

Ah well they probably had him kiled because of what he did to dukats daughter but whatever.

Cardassian's rule

I guess he died, because revolutionaries tend to die quite often in their revolts.
