But would WANT to live on a tall ship from times past, or in the modern worlds ships.
Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
The Reman Scimitar. A ship with so much of that awesome firepower can make anyone soil their pants! Pew, pew, pew!
lol, I like the way you think Intrepid. As with Babylon 5, I like the Starfleet Nova class (What a difference is scale and function these two classes have...)
Small, endurable and built for what Starfleet is meant to be: exploration!
You know, the B5 one is a sledge hammer
would I want to?? I have.
her name was the RSS Huntley (schooner rigged crew of 11)and she was a replica of the rather famous HMS pickle , fought at trafalgar and rescued several folks from the after... including a naked noblewoman and a motely clad jester...
Many thousands of folk every year take to the seas on similar vessels, some for military training (because even the navy thinks there is something to be gained from the understandings of wind wave and teamwork that a sail ship provides) and some for simple pleasure (monster-hotel-come cruise liner or tall sailing ship... not a difficult chocie)
I'm not saying that they would be anywhere near as fun when the high velocity rounds started flying, but how many round the world motor boat races do you know about?? and can you really tell me it would capture anyone's imagination to the same extent?
if you meant on a tall sailer under the historical conditions, then that is anothr question altogether and it might be worth pointing out that for the time period conditions on lots of those ships were better than the equivalent person could recive on land (most of the C19 naval Tars were volunteers by quite a margin.. but i guess the alcoholic equivalent of two bottles of modern white rum a day, on top of the beer, sort of helped.)
Now for the assimilation of the Scimitar well the Borg would have to be fast because one shot from that Theleron Weapon would Stop even the largest Borg Cube in its Tracks with in a Minute.
I always loved the Constitution class both the TOS and Refit versions. I also liked the Excelsior class though not the Ent-B type. I also love the D7/K'Tinga class, gotta love the TOS/TMP Klingons they had spirit unlike the TNG ones.
Which one do you mean? The Dreadnought? The Warship?Dominion: Super Cruiser
Which one do you mean? The Dreadnought? The Warship?
Well, great! I love it, too. Although I think that all of the Dominion designs are good. The DS9 people obviously had a great designer. The Dreadnaught from Valiant. Sorry
Oooh... no love for the poor Galaxy?UFP:
Intrepid (Very Agile and Adaptable. The design rocks too)
Constitution Refit (This thing is a classic and very photogenic.)
JJPrise (Seriously developing a soft spot for the hot rod )
Sovereign (The epitome of a modern TNG design.)
