I thought a fun thread would be one where we talk about our favorite villains, not just from sci-fi, but also from other shows, movies, games, etc. I just watched the Buffy episode "Conversations With Dead People" and I think that the vampire Holden Webster, making his only appearance in the series, is probably one of my favorite villains ever. After all, how many times do you get to hear lines like:

Holden: "Whoah! Did my face just change?"

Holden: "So I'm a vampire? How weird is that?"
Buffy: "I'm sorry."
Holden: "No, it feels okay. Strong, and I feel like I'm connected to a powerful all-consuming evil that's gonna suck the world into fiery oblivion. What about you?"

Holden: "I'm here to kill you, not judge you."

Holden: "I just think you're in some pain here. Which I kind of do enjoy 'cause I'm evil now, but I think you should ease up on yourself. You don't exactly have the patent on bad relationships."

Holden: "Oh, my God!"
Buffy: "Oh, your God what?"
Holden: "Oh, well, you know, not my God, because I defy him and all of his works, but—"

Anyway, I think I should stop and let you guys say something.:p So, who's your favorite villain?

Ohh this should be a fun and interesting discussion :D

Well, one of mine that I can think of off the top of my head would be the 'Villain' from the movie, Watchmen. I haven't read the graphic novels, so I have no idea if its the same in them. Because it isn't known to the viewer during the course of the movie, and I have no idea if anyone here hasn't seen or wants to see it, will have to add some spoiler tags in!

Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias. If you seen this you would know what I'm talking about, while its arguable that he isn't a 'Villain', he is definitely the antagonist of the film, and his methods of achieving, what is essentially World Peace, which is good for the world during a time of Nuclear Uncertainty, are what could be considered a little over the top :p

As for one that people who don't click the spoiler, well, for me it would be hard to go past Liquid Snake/Ocelot from the Metal Gear Solid series.

I for one love the series to death, mainly because of the characters. Being a genetically inferior version of his brothers, one being the protagonist of the series and the other playing a Villain in the 2nd game, all 3 being clones of their father, Liquid not once, but twice steals nuclear weapons, prototype nuclear equipped walking battle tanks and raises armies in his name. This guy is so hardcore, he doesn't let death stop him, first we totally shoot down a helicopter he is flying in, which falls to the ground and EXPLODES, then we blow up a robot hes piloting later, we totally fist fight him and he falls like 10 stories, then he decides that he doesn't have time to die, and feels like chasing and shooting at you in a jeep for an epic car chase.
He actually finally 'dies' but he's too hardcore for that, and appears later in the series after his arm was used to replace the arm of Ocelot (another character in the series) and through this arm he is able to take over Ocelot and become Liquid Ocelot.

Still trying to kill you even through another body, THIS GUY just has no RESPECT.

I will add more as the topic continues! Its early and I know I have other villains I like but can't remember them :p

The classic Darth Vader from the original movies. The episode III one I won't comment on.

Also Mr Morgan from Babylon 5.

It would have to be Mr Morden for me as well, and that includes his Shadow puppet masters.

...All he did was fulfill people's wishes.

I forgot about him, he was an outstanding villian.

Indeed, a great villian and he came across as just a middle man, a sleazy salesman type. :lol2:

The first villain I recognized as such was from Disney's The Jungle Book, Sher Khan the tiger. Suave. Sophisticated. Sure of himself. Totally dedicated to his cause. And ruthless as all get out. I was a young'un, sure but this was the first time it occurred to me there were people who could be charming and elegantly lethal at the same time.

My favorite after this one would be the Loknar from Heavy Metal: The Movie. Evil for its own sake and very happy about it.

And of course, Khan Noonien Singh. Anyone who could pull the wool completely over Jim Kirk's eyes is obvviously a first class baddie, lol.

This is a tough one - I shall remember to give rep to the OP once I am done...

Hmmm... I have a small list... Not in order of preference...

1* The Trade Federation guys from Star Wars Ep1 (mainly on account of the funny accents / ineptitude and hats)

2* Pennywise, the evil clown from Stephen King's "It" (god d**n scariest thing I have even seen in my life period.)

3* The monster from Cloverfield... In fact all movie monsters (Godzilla - NOT the re make -, King Kong...)

4* Gary Oldman's Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula - great old fashioned baddie...

5* Stansfield - the antagonist from Leon - another Gary Oldman bad guy and very charismatic.

6* Cyrus the Virus from Con Air - yes, yes the film has Nicolas Cage in it (and he and I have no love for one another, believe you me) however, John Malkovich was absolutely awesome as this evil mastermind.

7* Dr Evil. Enough Said.

8*
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Roy Batty - aka the evil replicant from Bladerunner... Pretty much the only thing I can watch Rutger Hauer in...

9* Mom. Owner of Momcrop. Most awesome bad guy in Futurama

10* KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNN!

My favourite in recent years is Karl Ruprecht Kroenen, the Nazi assassin from Hellboy.

In his obsession with physical perfection, he conducted brutal experiments on his own body, including surgically removing his own eyelids, lips, and his toe- and finger nails. He also designed a tight-fitting gas mask to filter out germs, which he wore almost permanently.

He also had a prosthetic mechanical hand, a steel rod replacing the broken part of his spine, and a clockwork heart operated by a wind-up key implanted in his chest.
By cranking the key, he was able to increase his speed and reflexes.
After long decades, the blood in his veins dried up completely, leaving only dust, and rendering him virtually invulnerable to gunshot wounds.
He could also turn the key to "switch off" his body (literally), remaining in a dormant state and appearing dead, until he was reanimated.
Oh, and did I mention he fought with cool swords that sprung from his sleeves:D
