I've been messing with a 3d rendering program called DAZ Studio, it's pretty nifty, mainly for doing people/'characters' than anything else... I'll be posting more renders as I do them.

Warning! Some of these are over 2400 pixels wide and 1.5 MB per file, you were warned...

Some excellent work there, did you actually model the models or did they come with the program? How much did the program set you back?

I look forward to seeing some more.

Quoted for the curiosity of the same questions.

Does look good mind you. :)

The program itself is free and can be found here. The models I used (I could never do what these people have done) on the other hand are the part that cost an arm and a leg... :(

Here we go, had some more fun in DAZ Studio... This may turn in to a potential RPG character...

Ohhh, I'm kinda jealous. My character models are lacking quite a bit. These are really nice shots. Well done on the camera angle and model positioning.

Is there anything specific your using these models or the program for?

Not really to be honest, It's pretty much something to do that passes the time for me when I'm either too stressed to do anything else or just when I'm too bored with everything else. I didn't really expect to go and do 6 renders, nor did I expect to possibly use the renders as my next RPG character. But now I have something specific to use them for at the moment. :)

Christine Winters and her younger sister Vanessa Winters... Still lacking a decent looking 3d commbadge or Christine would be sporting one... Oh well, guess I gotta make one...

What do you need to have a combadge? If it's a simple 2D texture, I can get you one. Or is it a 3D model? If so, what formates can you import?

I've been looking for a 3d model so if that's what you've got then that would be awesome as heck. :D It looks like the only 'normal' format I can import is .obj... everything else looks like it's keyed to some wierd Poser, Carrara or Bryce formats...

It should be a simple model to make. I'll see about one in the next day or 2. I can make an OBJ file.

TNG era?

Lol, I thought you had one made already. :p I was planning on making one myself but you're a lot better at this than I am, I'll definitely wait to see yours. :D VOY Era please if you could Syf. :) And please, don't worry about polys, I want it to look as detailed as possible assuming that doesn't increase the time it'd take you to make it by a huge amount.

The Commbadge I'm using is temporary, and I plan on doing a 'set' of pips for the officer uniform since the ones I got were, incompatible...

Thank you Crazy. :D Shifted to a slightly different theme...

Ok, she was originally supposed to be sliding through the door behind her and coming up gun blazing, but I couldn't really get the pose right since the gun I was using seemed a little large and I didn't want to mess with it's scale since it actually looked like it was the right size, so, I did this scene where I guess she's relaxing or something...

Ok, done some more in the last few weeks...

An officer went aboard a 'damaged' ship with an engineering and science team to try and repair the vessel, this is how she was repaid...
Captured.jpg

Starfleet Archaelogists uncovered a sealed chamber on one of Cestus III's moons, this is what they found...
Edit: Sorry alittle to much adult content. This is still a family site. May I suggest "black boxes" to cover. - Crazyfrog1903

So this one didn't turn out how I wanted, she was supposed to have a set of wings, but the ones I had looked crappy as heck so...
Kitchen.png

And finally this was going to be a series of renders ala Lara Croft-ish stuff, next one would have had some bad guys busting in on her, one after that would have had her going for a gun, and so on and so forth... But I got bored with the idea and just didn't think it'd work how I had planned...

So instead she's just snoozing after reading a book...
TheStudy1.jpg

Edit: Picture removed. May be computer generated but it is still adult content. Read my suggestion in the spiler itself.- Crazyfrog1903

Out of the 4 I really like the first one the most. It just has a kind of character to it and a really good feeling of despair.

Something I have found over my time as a 3d artist is a lot of people seem to have an obsession with making scenes with naked women in tubes. Now naturally I’m not against this but I thought I would bring it up. Lol. :)

LOL, yeah, but it's the only one I've done like that and probably the last... As for the first one ;) I plan on doing anther version of it with a few more of the crew, just not too sure when I'll get around to it...

Hmm, haven't done too many of these lately, but here's the few 'new' ones I've got...

I tried the 'cartoon' setting again and as usual am not happy with how it turned out... I think I'm going to have to start setting up my own lights for this to work right...

And finally a render that I turned into a Plaque...
