• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well, I've been looking forward to this - here's my entry. The technobabble is based partly on Homeworld...

attachment.php

The first hyperdrive works, in layman's terms, by opening a door and kicking the ship through before the universe realises that this is impossible. That definition is completely wrong - but a proper one is very complex and the word 'quantum' would be used a few times; as would, inexplicably, be the word 'milk'

Anyway; this ship (which has no name at the moment) was created to house the first hyperdrive. There is one snag - the elements required to build the primary engine are very rare - and all traces of it in the inner solar system were used up making this engine. In other words, this is an untested drive system.

Still needs some work - I've started the detailing (as visible) but need to think of some more bits to add. Currently at two thousand polies.

Definitely cool, Max or something else?

Yeah, Max. Been using it for close to two years now. Quite a steep learning curve but once you learn something it can be used to do just about anything.

Thanks all - I was going for bold, hard lines to emphasise an industrial history.

Hehe I love the "technical" description. Reminds me of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Thanks again everyone, a little more work done...

Mainly just a texture colour test. I didn't want to make it the grey colour that seems to be standard with ships.

Now she's 5000 polies, getting there :lol2:
