Well, I've been looking forward to this - here's my entry. The technobabble is based partly on Homeworld...
The first hyperdrive works, in layman's terms, by opening a door and kicking the ship through before the universe realises that this is impossible. That definition is completely wrong - but a proper one is very complex and the word 'quantum' would be used a few times; as would, inexplicably, be the word 'milk'
Anyway; this ship (which has no name at the moment) was created to house the first hyperdrive. There is one snag - the elements required to build the primary engine are very rare - and all traces of it in the inner solar system were used up making this engine. In other words, this is an untested drive system.
Still needs some work - I've started the detailing (as visible) but need to think of some more bits to add. Currently at two thousand polies.
