Right this is so far what ive done, obviously if my recent run of spare time holds out.

Here is the Concorde Class FTL Test ship, later retro fitted to become a Long range scout.

FTL.jpg

The Type of FTL she uses is similar to the ones found in Event Horizon and BSG.

Much like EH, the gravity drive bends space time and creates a fissure between the destination and the Current location, allowing the ship to pass through it and appear instantaniously at their destination, however, due to Power requirements, the core needs several minutes to recharge and only "small" Jumps are possible, however this is still far quicker than teh height of Sublight technology.

also as this is a human vessel i have tried to follow the rough shape (from above) of a space shuttle, yet still giving it a modern and slightly futuristic edge.

I like it - especially the cockpit; nice touch

I'd suggest changing some of the smoothing settings- she looks a bit weird at the moment, but other than that; all that's needed is some detailing and textures

You have really come a long way jeddy, I remember when the idea of adding details to a ship was your worst nightmare and now you have a well thought out cockpit. (everyone likes you cockpit ;) )

I agree with Amateur that the smoothing settings needs some work but she is coming along well.

i will freely admit detailing is still a nightmare lol.

I just dont know what to put where, but im learning, one thing i need to stop doing is extruding features of the vessel for detail as i dont think that always looks good. Also, being able to do effective plating might help too :/

and thanks :D i do try to improve and this is a pleasent change, being able to do a design of my own rather than fed kit bashes and failing at models for AndrArmada lol.

Looks quite good mate, and yes, the cockpit is an excellent touch, I would have cheated and just done a few textures behind the glass to make a 'room'...

Right i looked back at the design of my ship, and although i liked most parts of teh craft i didnt like what they all made - too many holes and warped faces, so, i decided to go with the First real ship!

This ship has a relatively identical drive to the one i used for the test ship, it works by bending space/time to create a portal through which the craft can (more or less) instantaneously travel from one point to another (as explained in Event horizon, the fastest way to travel between 2 points is 0)

Because of this stress on the ship is minimal, and a need for a streamlined hull is non existant allowing for a larger hulk to still travel at the same rate.

Thusly the city ship "Trident" was born, This craft houses 2400 people, with equipment for deep space exploration and if possible emergency colonization.

ye well i havent added any more detail (was at a bit of a loss) and i just auto smoothed the plating and other areas which got rid of its weird look.

Well you just keep getting better lol. The trident is a beast lol. I love the shape and the bridge at the top (um hope its the bridge anyway). Look much better than the first (although that was good to, this one is just better heh).

this is a notification of my official withdrawl fromt he competition. The Zebra was ill which inadvertantly contaminated the executable apple, which then fell into a radiator.

Or, a more believable excuse, i really dont have the time to finish the ship. I will work on it when i have the oppourtunity but i honestly dont see how it will be finished by next monday heh.

Ill catch you next time ;)
