A spin off was an option as was a movie but it seems as though that has not gone very far.
There was even talk of an animated series.

I heard about the possibility of a spin off series set before the Commonwealths Fall as well as another one set a long time after the Andromeda finale.
But as Rod has said neither have gone far.

The Heart of the Journey Part 1:
The beginning of the end for Andromeda.
Surprise to see Cobie Smulders who I am currently seeing in How I Met Your Mother and without any explanation she has two different roles in this same story just like Peter Purves in Doctor Who: The Chase. She was very good in her main role as Rhaade's wife.
Taken aback to see all those Trances.
Very nice to hear that classical music as Andromeda goes through the Route of Ages and finally coming back home.
The cliffhanger is good.

What a shock seeing what happens to Earth.
As with the previous episode Cobie Smulders appears as Rhaade's wife but very briefly.
Nice scene when Harper was alone with Rommie and Doyle.
Not surprised who Virgil Vox turned out to be.
This was originally broadcast on May 13 2005 on the same night of the final episode of Enterprise. (Incidentally the Enterprise finale will be on Australian TV next week.) Of the two finales, Andromeda's is definitely better than Enterprise's.
