• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

All to fitting for todays time

The county I work in has issued a stay at home / work safe order. However, I am considered essential personnel due to working in the Transportation sector so, no staying home for me.

Good to hear the fever broke. Stay safe and see ya on the other side my friend.

Glad to learn you are feeling a little bit better Hellkite, hope that continues quickly to full recovery.

Growing up in a military family, :salute: to all the vets; no folks I respect more than those that wear the uniform. My old man flew choppers in the Army during 'Nam and my grandfather was a Sergeant in WW2.

I was not permitted to join the Devil Dogs due to a medical, so to your pops Hellkite, Semper Fi.

Thanks Archonon ,

He would have reciprocated with a Semper Fi.

Sadly he pass 14 year ago. from cancer and a heart attack that was linked to his service in Vietnam
""Agent Orange""

Both side of my Family are Military family mostly historically from U.S. Army. My father like me did not want to be "the old man's son" so he went to a different branch.

When I did it real piss him off when I turned down Anapolis for Colorado Springs , but to be far I did the same to Westpoint. To which my mother was fine with given her father was in the first officer group that transferred from the US Army to the Airforce in September 1947.

So I'm Military stock born and bred

My Grandpa was Army and my Dad was Air Force. I joined the Army to honor my Grandpa. He seceded in WW2 European theatre I believe. My Dad volunteered to the Air Force before being drafted so he had a choice of where to go. They stopped sending troops to Vietnam just before he graduated from tech school. I came close to being deployed to Bosnia but the Squadron (I was Cavalry so our unit structure is different from the rest of the Army) I was in was the one selected to stay at post (Ft Polk, LA).

I have several family members that served in various branches.

Most of my training unit went there. Wasn't all bad though, as it's only a three hour drive to home.

Well ...

According to the test I took at the VA ... I have Covid-19

It feels like the flu/ cold at this point ... but should be okay I'm in good shape for my age .

So I have quarantined myself away from my family and took up residence in the apartment above my garage for the time being.

Yep Bachelor pad time for this old boy

I am a bit late but I am glad to hear that you are improving.

As for my area, I have had to socialize more in the last month than I did the previous six months combined. I was used to 0200 Wal-Mart runs. Now everything closes. I am finishing my Master's degree online in the next couple months. After that I have nothing. I think my family is convinced that my PTSD might cause me to shoot someone really soon. Eh, Not much else to do anymore.

I hope that it is a quick recovery for him and that the rest of the family can stay in the clear.

I have continued to work with our outreach to keep providing services to the homeless and less fortunate around here. My mother is the director and people keep warning her to stop because she is at higher risk. Her response is that it is her responsibility to help others no matter the circumstances.

I am just curious how long it will be before the news starts telling stories of people who staved to death because they couldn't work. Stopping the spread of any virus is important. The base stupidity in others helped spread this thing to good people (like you and your family) that never should have had it.

If I ended up with it I wouldn't make the stupid choice I did when the VA tried to kill me by shutting down my kidneys this last year. I was less than 24 hours from death had I not returned to the VA. I would just stay home and let it take me but I have pretty much outlived my usefulness. Six more months and I will be done with everything I am supposed to do.

Hello:
I am glad to read they are doing fine, I hope they will also have a swift recovery, just remember that surviving the sickness does not make you fully immune.
