• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I thought I'd show off the model I was converting from BC. It's the Aegis Class by Cavan Millward, the same person who made the Acquiescent that Pepperman helped me port.

This is for Armada 1, by the way. I found out how to get A2 quality glows, but I doubled my poly count. It also has phong lighting. If I can get it down to a reasonable poly count, I'll see about getting permission for release.

The design is quite interesting (although I'm not an A1 gamer). The textures seem to be a bit lo-res but maybe it's the pic...
Anyways, it's a nice ship. I lol'd at the name, now I can't stop thinking of the Aegian.

Can't wait for this one. I've really liked the Aegis in BC and would love to have it in A2.

She sure is pretty. What is her type designation? Cruiser?

I think it's an explorer. His description says it has excellent science capabilities but also heavy firepower and strong shields. It's also about the size of the Sovereign. The textures are actually 1024x1024 in that pic, they just look small because I used Storm for the pictures.

Also, I got rid of the unnecessary polies from the glows, which brings the count down a lot, but still not enough to not slow my game down. It's currently around 6000 polies, which is a great improvement over the 11,000 range it was at in those pics.

Sounds great! 6000 is pretty much, but Dan's conversion of the Victory over at a2files has 6600, IIRC. So it should be okay.

Well, I halved it again anyway so it's in the 3000 range. Runs smooth and looks great in game. Now to see if I can get a hold of Cavan...

3000 polies sounds excellent. Looking forward to adding this in to one of my installs.

I don't suppose anybody knows how to find Cavan. His e-mail address doesn't seem to work anymore. It seems like I had this problem with the Acquiescent too, but I don't remember what I did. His usernames are "Cavan Millward" and "aodonnel"

I still can't seem to find Cavan. I've checked several Bridge Commander forums and nobody seems to know where he is or to have even heard of him. The last confirmed sighting was early December of last year commenting on the converted Acquiescent and giving concept background. Before that, it was two years ago in an Aegis comment. Does anybody have any ideas? Some place I may have missed?
