I've always been a bit unsatisfied with the options available for constructing regular shuttlecraft. The Venture, for example, builds from a shipyard designed for much larger vessels. This would be fine with only a couple of scout ships, but if you like to hoard them as I do, a large shipyard for tiny ships just seems ridiculous. I could have them be built from stations, but there are few small outposts out there and given a choice between a starbase that can build construction ships and freighters versus scouts, I'd prefer to go with the construction ships. I could also have them built from or deployed from carriers, but carriers are preferable for fighters and small craft that are deployed in squadrons instead of individually. And since I can't build from planets, that left only one choice: a tiny shipyard! This shipyard is the perfect size for building scout ships, and as such does not have the ability to repair ships. It's also had its resources cut down to match its smaller size. This shipyard is a kitbash of one of Aad Moerman's designs.
