Colonial Colonies

We all know there are twelve of them. Does anyone know if the Colonies had any colonies of their own, you know off world bases?

I am guessing that Earth, the 13th colony, has two names like the 12 colonies. I wonder what her ancient name was. My guess would be either Earth is the ancient name or Terra is.

Also which Colonial Colony would you want to be from?

anyone got a bit more information to base the vote on...
I know the original strongly took to the idea that the people from the various colonies were characterised liek the star signs were meant to be... (so Virgos were well bred and particular... taurans were more... bullish) But I don't think the new series really mentions more than one or two?

Way back watching the original series I rather wanted to see what a Scorpion Battlestar looked like... rather imagining them without some of the new age fluffiness of the Carpicans..
