Which do you have and which do you pefer?
I prefer Desktops, granted they are bulky and hard to move, but are so much easier to upgrade and repair.

Laptops.
I have a laptop I do everything on and I can take it everywhere, where I can install the plug of it.
Mine is fairly old now (from late 2000) and I still can run some nice games.
Today I am looking forward to a LAN game of "Dangerous Waters" Naval Warfare Sim. Without the laptop being portable, that would not be possible for me.
Disadvantages: The cooler is much too small, the laptop runs hot fast and since it is an older model it also has a battery that runs out quickly.
And repair and upgrades are very expensive, though not futile.

Well, if you give me the F-22 Raptor board computer (with an output of 2 Cray-Supercomputers!) I would take a desktop, too.

Depends on how good the driver is :) .
If the car runs smooth on the road, then there shouldn't be any problem. I already had my laptop in an airplane...

Yes you can newer laptops are made with anti-shock features.
But me I prefer the Desktops it is easier to work on them and I can fix just about any problem that comes up with them myself. And when new tech comes out I just go out and Buy it and Install it on the Desktop, Laptops are just about set in what can be upgraded.

I too prefer desktops, and will be building a new one in the next two months. I also want to get a really cheap notebook, so I can do my in-school work in-school.
I myself prefer the good 'ol Desktop/Tower. I can always upgrade my PC for very little. As to a laptop, you have to replace the whole thing. ALso, Desktops are always more powerful that Laptops.
Actually, I prefer my PDA (PocketPC) over a laptop. It's smaller, fits in my pocket.
