When watching the last ep of season two and seing how that ship blew up in the nuke that if in season 1 or near the start of season 2 if the cylons fired a nuke into the starboard flightpod whilst it was pressurised a similar explosion would happen.

And given that a carrier is always a high-priority target whilst doing an attack run, and seeing that the Galactica had no heavy escort units (besides the fighters)... ouch.
A real bad tactical disadvantage.

+ the fact that galacticas fighter complement was less than half its origional strength.

That's like the USS Theodore Roosevelt before the Russian Cost in 1982, without any escorts and half the fighters!

lol ok i havent seen much of this ( half a episode ! ) but gonna soon . but remember a Carriers Fighters can be a bigger threat than a battleships guns ( they are faster , harder to hit , have a good payload and always come back for more ) , destroyin a Carrier in a task force is vital to secure a early victory .
