The new and improved version!

Okay then, to explain this; I'm a big fan of the eventual players taking an active part in the mod. So any suggestions post 'em here. I promise to look and reply as soon as I can. Bear in mind that I am limited by many things - notably the engine that Armada uses.

But that's about it. All serious considerations will be, er...considered . Things like "Ewww, Star Wars. You should put the Enterprise in so I can blow them all up!" will be met with my most devastating weapon...

This :naughty:

You have been warned!

In all seriousness, please make use of this thread. I will listen to all suggestions and decide to what I believe best. If the suggestion is quite a hard one I may post a poll as well.

hey,

been watching this for a little, I had a bit of spare time on my hands today (just completed KOTOR II) and i got bored.

So i knocked up a little ship if ur interested, not sure how ur sides work, but i based the model on the Venator class.

This would be the Venator's faster sibling. i see it as filling the light cruiser role.

ive dubbed it the shortsword cos of its size, but a more appropriate name can be given to it should you want it.

If you do, pm me to arrange delivery :p

here is the pic of it, i apologise for the quality of the picture, milkshape doesnt like doing what i tell it of late, might be something to do with my lack of practice! lol.

The whoel rig is about 1241 polys. like i said, if u want it its urs for the usual fee (Credit lol) if not no hard feelings lol.

That looks great! and very nicely named too, it does, atm at least,
resemble one of my short swords I have stashed away down in the shed lol

Nice job

Captain obvious is well, obvious...8-)

Anyway, I have a question here sir. Considering Venators and Recusants are pretty massive. How will you keep the scaling between capital ships and fighters reasonable? Will you stay true to canon sizes?

Me again :)

Firstly, nice ship there Jeddy. I've saved the pic, do you mind if I make the design myself? You'd get full credit obviously, I just like to get as much practice in as I can

Jetfreak, I've been thinking about that a lot recently. You're right - Star Wars ships are absolutely massive, and the fighters can be quite small. What I'll probably have to do is make some compromises. Cap ships will be big and fighters small - but they won't be as big as they can be. The A2 engine isn't really designed like that (pathing and avoidance gets messed up with large objects).

The rough guide I'll go by is that fighters will be roughly the size of the stock Venture, corvettes the Sabre/Defiant, Fleet ships the Galaxy, Light Cruiser the Sovereign and work it out from there. The size relations will be all right though I should think. An Acclamator will still be smaller than a Venator and all that.

well, tbh id still live to send u a copy of the model, like i said (or was planning to say atleast) the picture doesnt show much of the detail on the model. which u would get with the model heh. Its up to u if u make ur own mesh or not, but gives u a better look at the model was my thinking

I'll probably make a design based on it, so the model would probably be slightly less helpful :)

I've saved the pic, when I get round to it you'll have full credit :)
