View Full Version : The Final Episode (Warning! Spoilers)
I'm kind of beating Theta Sigma to the punch, but i just saw the Last Episode of Battlestar Galactica
Galactica Jumps to the Cylon Colony ship to recover Hera, Boomer Kills a Number 4 Doctor and delivers Hera into the hands of the Colonial Assault teams, afterwards Athena Kills her. Galactica is soon boarded by a combined assault force of 2nd Generation, and Model 0005(TOS) Centurions, lots of killing, and the like, Cavil shows up in Galactica's CIC, and the Final 5 try to solve the situation peacefully, by promising Cavil Resurrection Knowledge. which they proceed to give them, by combining there minds together, to send the information to the Cylons. unfortunately Chief Tyrol learns that Tori Murdered Cally, and then proceeds to kill her. interrupting the Data Transfer, Aaron Doral sees this as a trick and orders the Loyalist forces to open fire. Cavil kills himself after becoming fed up with the events. Kara Thrace manipulates Galacticas FTL Drive. and jumps them to unknown Coordinates over a very familiar setting, our Moon, Luna. and a familiar looking planet, The Colonials Land in Africa, Admiral Adama names the Planet Earth, after the dream they fought so hard to win. the Rest of the Fleet is flown into the sun, destroying it and it is revealed that BSG takes Place 150,000 years ago.
i personally didn't like the ending, i thought they could have done so much better. and it was reviled that a two hour special event would air in the fall, showing the events leading up to the Attack on the 12 Colonies, from the Cylon point of view
I just watched it too. However, I am opposite of you, I liked the ending. And you have to admit, it did end in a bit of a surprise.
Now we wait for the 2 hour movie this fall.

Hmm I think that the "twist" at the end, if it can be called that, was a little obvious and cliche; frankly I actually imagined them doing this exact same thing a couple of times during the series and especially once they found "Earth".
I liked very much the first hour, hour + 15, with Galactica's siege on the Cylon colony and the unfolding of those events. The last 45 or so minutes were kind of meh...I didn't really dislike it, it was fine, but I did find it underwhelming and merely satisfactory; especially for the series finale.
It was certainly no Peacekeeper Wars or Babylon 5's "Sleeping in Light".
I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Well, after what I have heard, this episode has only been shown in America so far. So you are actually beaten Theta Sigma to the punch by several months since it will take at least several months for this episode to be shown in Australia there Theta Sigma lives.
So remember people, if you shall write about something that happened in this episode, put it in spoilers.

this is true, though that comment was just made to be a joke, since Theta Sigma is usually the source of SciFi Related News for the Site :)

Yeah unfortunately us Aussies may live in the future compared to most of the rest of the world but we are one of the last countries to get the episodes we love to watch! No fair! guess its the price we pay for living ahead of the rest of you! :lol2:

Well, look at it this way, MA; People in Norway usually don't get to see this and that episode before about a year after it has been shown in America, so I know your feeling. You are not alone.
Anyway, about this episode: Syf told me a small part of it, not much, but from what I heard it sounds like a great episode. :)

[QUOTE=Borg_Queen;50517] So you are actually beaten Theta Sigma to the punch by several months since it will take at least several months for this episode to be shown in Australia there Theta Sigma lives.
Actually I got beaten to the punch by mere hours as the Sci Fi Channel here showed it by that amount of time after the US broadcasts.
In the previous episode Lee asked Baltar when he ever did a selfless thing. So it was not surprising that Baltar chose to stay behind on Galactica.
Also not surprising Athena shooting Boomer.
Who would have thought that Galen finally finding out who killed Cally would result in perhaps the shortest armistice ever.
The original Galactica theme is played here.
Adama names the new world Earth reusing the name of the other Earth. So they are our ancestors.
Very sad on the last time we see Kara and Laura.
Surprising seeing a flash forward of 150000 years to this present day.
Now we wait for the 2 hour movie this fall.
There is also the spinoff Caprica that comes afterwards.

I've seen it, too. I liked it.
For Lee Adama it must be a depressing end of the journey. His father is gone, though he could return, Kara is gone, but forever. Dee is dead for quite some time now, the Chief is also far away. He just stays behind with no-one he has an emotional connection to.
I really liked it. It was fun to hear Jimi Hendrix' All Along The Watchtower version as closing music :)
I quite liked it.
I did't get how Kara was the harbinger of death or whatever it was the hybrid said

Maybe you are being too "literal" with the way you are looking at the term "harbinger of death", she did after all lead them to there new life on Earth(2), hence killing off the old way of life and breaking the cycle, just one way of looking at it?
Anyway, my thoughts feelings on the final episode :
Wow, what a way to tie it all up, I didn't see the the 2nd earth thing coming, or the fact the opera house was actually Galactica, in all I feel its up there with quality of B5 multiple season story telling, now I want to go back to the begining watch it all over again.
There were however several WTF moments that I hope come to light in either Caprica of the Cylon Movie, these were:
* So what was Kara Thrace?
* Was Kara's dad, Cylon Number 7?
* What were the "Angels" that Caprica 6 and Baltar kept seeing - Really.
* What is the "Higher Power" that manipulated it all (if not God)?
* What happened to the Raptors that were landed all over Earth(2)?
* So were are all part Cylon!, thanks to Hera?
* It could all happen again!
* How come we haven't found any artifacts relating to the Colonials and there influence on our evolution (not counting Hera's bones)?
* What happened to the Rebel Basestar and the Centurians?:naughty:
Anyway iam sure things will come to light, but it does leave scope for a venture into what happens next (as in, to us).

i'm sure that the Colonials probably disassembled the Raptors and tossed the parts in a place where they wouldn't be found.

where could that be, eBay perhaps?
:lol2:
I really liked the bit where baltar was saying he knew how to be a farmer, i thought it was quite powerful.
It was kind of taking the easy way out of explaing all the stuff about the song leading them to earth and all the other unexplained stuff by saying it was all God wasnt it.

For this take another looks at what was said:
"Thus will it come to pass, a dying leader will know the truth of the Opera House, the missing Three will give you the five who have come from the home of the thirteenth. You are the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace. You will lead them all to their end. End of line." This is said by the Hybrid on the Basestar
Now taking this she did exactly as was said she lead her to their end the End of the line for their way of life.
