View Full Version : Whats So Heavy About a Heavy Raider?
Right,
I have a little side project im working on, i want to keep it as hush hush as possible. All i will say is it has links with BSG.
My main question for this topis is =
Whats so heavy about a heavy raider?
Example: What kinda of weapons does it have? How does it compare to the raider, and where are the weapons placed?

I'm not sure but I think the only thing 'heavy' about the heavy raider is that it has more armor and maybe missiles?
as right, cos the normal raider only has machin guns (OR equivilent ;) )
Do we ever see a heavy raider fighting?

Heavy Raiders also carry Centurions for use in boarding actions or raiding. They have a single gatling-style weapon that seems to fire higher-calibre rounds than the two outboard weapons on the standard Raider. Whether they carry missiles or not isn't memorable enough for me to recall.

Normal raiders have nukes too, and i quite a few episodes you see heavy raiders fighting.
your right i forgot about those, they come out of the actual shell dont they? (as in they open pannels and deploy them)
Could you tell me an episode title? as much as id like to i dont have time to watch all of galactica :(

In Razor, there's a critical scene early on where a Six and some Centurions disembark onto Pegasus from a Heavy Raider, and several of them feature in combat.
:D
yeah ive been pretty stupid, ive seince looked at the model ive got and its pretty obvious where they fire from heh.
all except the missiles.
