Earth: Final Conflict, the first posthumous Gene Roddenberry series which originally ran for five seasons between October 6 1997 and 20 May 2002.

For those who have completely forgotten what this show was about or never heard about it before, I suggest reading about it at Wikipedia.

I thought I start this new thread on EFC as a result of recently buying a tie-in novel Augur's Teacher by Sherwood Smith which I bought for a dollar at a bargain sale.

My favourite cast members are Lisa Howard (Lili Marquette) and Jayne Heitmeyer (Renee Palmer).

Despite a strong start with the first season it had a dip in quality for seasons 2 and 3 but got an improvement with season 4 but ended with a dismal season 5.

The series had good ideas and therefore it should have gotten a better reputation.

It was a great series till season 5, Andromeda did the same actually, considering they are both based on works by Roddenberry one must wonder.

I have season 1 on DVD and hoping for the next 3 seasons to come out soon.

It was quite a long time ago this show ran on German TV, but I did enjoy the first seasons.

One major thing that I disliked was, that in the end of some episodes they had a scene that was like a cliffhanger, but in the next episode nothing of this was mentioned...
For example:
There was an episode in which several Astronauts and Cosmonauts stole one of the Alien shuttles (with Resistance support) and did their planned mission to Mars (the Aliens canceled it beforehand). Then they show a tape recorded by the Shuttle Crew that showed a major Alien base on the dark side of the Moon, but in the next episode none of this had any impact...
