Borg vs Tholians here Boys and Girls, and I'd like to know who your money would be on. Seeing as the Tholians aren't 'Humanoid', I have my doubts as to whether they can actually be Assimilated. There is also the slight problem, that the Tholians live in extremely hot temperatures, something that isn't so on a Borg Cube.

I've also pondered how a Cube would react / suffer at the hands of the Tholian Web. If successfully connected, would a Cube be able to resist destruction, or would it meet its bitter end?

We know also that Tholian ships tend to be rather small, therefore, they could probably hold out against a Cube, by jolting about quite a bit, missing a Cubes Torpedoes (Energy Beams would be a different matter mind).

But yeah... your thoughts?

with respect... the borg would adapt, assimilate and kick ***... it's what they do.

the tholian web might work once but then.....
the different nature might stop the nanites working ... maybe (ie if the writers wanted to be dramatic that way) but it certainly wouldn't stop the surgeons etc...

the heat thing... utterly irrelevant, the borg have adapted folk from a unbelievably huge variety of atmospheres, food and protein needs... a little temperature difference would require little more than blood heating modules...

Hmm, i'd go along with them not being assimilatable (is that a word? it is now), due to being so exotic. In which case, the Borg would try to exterminate them. Their technology, on the other hand, the Borg would probably want to get their hands on...

as often as i'd like to agree with creed. um... why hasn't the federation been assimilated yet? with all their technology, the borg should have wiped out the galaxy by now. i mean you can only rotate shield frequency just so many times before someone figures out the next time i see you i should look for that. lol
