View Full Version : Daedalus
Evening,
I know you must have a million Daedalus by now but I just wanted to show a model i have been working on. Model so far has taken about 3 hours. I think it shows a marked improvement on the asgard shipyard I posted 5 weeks ago.
Just working on this for the moment to try and get my modelling skills together, then I will start working on some other models - maybe either some new content for stargate.
Cheers

the daedalus model looks, interesting.
I think you either need to alter the view or brush up on your skills a bit more,
Tho all in all much better than my early attempts. keep it up!
The top bit of the deadulus looks slightly wonky other than that its good
Yeah I guess it looks a little weird, I forgot to move the top piece into the right place. It wasnt fixed in place in that shot.
It's a good start.
It seems the 304 is getting a lot of attention lately from model makers.

A great early start to a rather complex ship that many have attempted to build and I hope you succede as the 304 is one of my favourite ships. :)

I'll 2nd that.
As the other have said it's a good start.
Thanks for the positive comments guys.
Just a quick update - worked on the center engines last night and the box work around the back-end. Not liking the original engines i did on the hangers but will look at that later.

What software did you use? Nice start btw.
First I use Google Sketchup Pro - Never used anything so easy in my life
Then export it as a .3DS into milkshape - Done :D
try Wings 3D its what i use,

I found that hard to use, I prefer using milkshape.
Time for an update:
Now I have half an idea on how to model I have been starting a fair few projects, will I finish any of them - who knows!
But heres a try :)
Daedalus is 5,800 Polys
AG-3 is 1,216 Polys

A shame the Daedalus is too high to be usable in Armada 2 as it looks great. You really should try and not have a ship model over 2500-3000, the later being low produced models.

Down to the system i guess. I'm using my Daedalus in fleet ops atm which use's alot more power anyway and I have had over 20 of them on the screen at once with no problems.
