Hope this is the right thread for this, it was the only one that seemed to fit.
Star Trek :- Customizable Card Game.
Hopefully some people out there will remember this, otherwise what I need help with, is going to be a bit difficult.
Ok I will start with a bit of an overview first (for those who haven't got a clue what iam on about), way back in 1994 a company call decipher released a custamizable card game (from here on in a CCG) set in the Star Trek universe, the first set had 363 different cards to collect/trade (rangeing from common, uncommon and rare in how difficult they were to get).
The game had a basic structure similar to that of the A1 and A2 games (but not PC based), you played your ship(s), put a crew on them, and went to solve missions, while causing as much/many problems for your opponent as possible, and trying to be the first person to score 100 (and win).
Over time several "expansions" or addons were released and the choice of game play grew (think of a MOD and you will get the idea), while game play became quite serious (in some parts of the world, people were playing the game for a living!)
NB :- A1 actually had a card produced for the game, the USS Jupiter, if you got one with your copy of A1 keep it, it is worth a few quid
After a time the people at Decipher (based on player feedback) decided to revisit and rebuild the game, because it was deemed to have become too complicated and they released the 2nd edition of the game, and stopped producing the 1st edition, the 2nd ended last year as decipher produced there last expansion (called fittingly "What You Leave Behind").
My issue is this, I am trying to construct a database for the 1st edition cards, but iam having trouble tracking down images of the cards (I can find a tonne of stuff on the 2nd edition, as you may guess), now I know someone is going to ask me why I havent just scanned my collection, well...... to be honest I dont know where it is (I was 13 when I started collecting, iam now 27 and have moved house 5 times during that span, it could be anywhere....... yes I know, silly me :x ), a example of what iam after can be found below.
Can anyone help me?, if for no other reason that to preserve a fantastic Trek game for future gamers.
Any/all help will be greatly received
NB:- of course once I get the database complete I will gladly share it with the community
I have a few hundrend in a box around here. My player deck is right in front of me.
Perhaps I may be able to help. I just upgraded my system and have not installed my scanner yet, however.

That would be a massive undertaking, I couldn't ask that of you, my first focus is the "warp pack" and "all good things" if you could help with any of those that would be great.
On a other note, do you mind me asking what your deck theme was, and how far did you take your game play, I myself got to 2nd in the county
It was a limited play. As work loads increased, I had less and less time to play the game. So, I only played it on the week-ends, until the local club moved to a different game. No tornies for me. I never had the time.
My theme was built around the Tox Uthat using mostly Klingons. Also keep in mind this was the original deck. I purchased a few packs and such of the expansion decks up to the DS9 addition. But stayed out of the expansions really.

I built mine around speed, my main card was the "Engage Cloak" objective supported by the USS Defiant and the Future Enterprise ships, I could win in 8 goes

If you want to know more pm me, I would be more than happy to give you some info.
I will be happy to upload some scans of the cards as soon as I locate all 12 of them and get my scanner going.

Don't get too excited yet. I have some of them located so far. I seem to be missing a box of cards. I'm still looking for the y.a. and 6 of the mission cards.

Wait a sec... What all do you mean by 1st edition? The white border ones? or is there something else I'm looking for? Because I've got a few hundred, hopefully some help to you...
Look at the date stamped on the card. 1994-1997 (at least I know for sure) are the first editions. And actually, there are Black border, which are a "limited" first release, then the white border is the "Unlimited" second release. The black borders are limited in the fact that they were of a small release size shipped to the retailers. After that, the cards go to a white border, and then decifer will print large volumes to fill the demand and to mass-market the product.
Edit: As long as they are the 1990's release, then they are still the first editions.

Ok, last question, what resolution did you scan at Syf? :)
Actually, I haven't scanned them yet.... I found the images on a site.:)
But if you want to scan them, I'd say no less then 300... up to 1440. Use an Imaging program like Photo-shop to adjust the size of the images afterwards.

okies. :) My scanner only goes up to 300 DPI so I guess that's what I'll do :D

I have played this before. But I am not sure where the cards are. Maybe in the garage. I do have a Picard.

While what you say is correct, there was in fact 2 releases of the game (1st edition and 2nd edition, I have attached some images to the bottom to highlight the difference, in effect the 2nd edition was simplified compared the the 1st edition)
Actually, I haven't scanned them yet.... I found the images on a site.
Can I be really cheaky and ask, what site you used?

It is every thing I need to create the database, If I could buy you a pint, I would. you have saved me a ton of time thankyou

Well I am glad to hear that. I hope your endeavor pans out. I am only glad to help.
Edit:
Now I just want to know what some of my cards are worth. For example, Is "Data Laughing" worth anything (still in the original, unopened wrapper)? I have looked at that list on the site I sent you, and I have a box full of "r" cards, like Enterprise-E (and Enterprise C-*3 of them*), etc.

There are several cards that are holding there value (obviously the a complete Limited edition (black boarder) premire will get you a few quid, but a few of others will hold there price better)
Future Enterprise £40
Data Laugthing £10 (if still wrapped upto £20)
USS Jupiter £10 (if still wrapped upto £20)
Full warp pack (seeled) £5
Wesley Crusher (with the typo) £16
USS Defiant (white boarder special promo) £25
Dr McCoy £25
The Pendari Champion (ie the Rock) £30
Obviously these are approx values based on what is available on the net and my local gamer shop, but like anything when they become impossible to get hold of you, will be able to name your price.
Perhaps I can wait another decade and maybe send one of my kids to Uni on what I can sell my collection for!

Now I need to find a suitable program to put this into, (I mainly use excel but I dont think that will cut it for this level of database), anyone got any ideas?
Well, I would say a PDF. Abobe or the Open Office version. You can make the database searchable, and store all the images in it, etc.
Open-office is a free program too.
