Like Favourite Cannon Star Trek Ship - Majestic Sci-Fi Central Forums (http://www.majesticscificentral.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1799) but only for non-canon ships.

For those who don't know what non-canon is it's a fan design ship or ship that doesn't appear in the series or movies.

I've got two for the Federation, the Legacy Class, and the Century Class...

Legacy (http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/2d-wips/18592-legacy-class-technical-manual.html) (Sci-fi Meshes)

Century (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Century_Class_USS_Century;85708) (Bridge Commander Files)

Another Vote for Century class, looks quite stunning. I was also a bit partial to the Soulwolf class

Well, since most people claim the games are non-canon also (I am undecided on the matter) I would go for the Imperial Hawk from KA.

While the Soul Wolf is a fine design, the non-canon ship that gets my vote is the Excaliber

Next is the Klingon D-70 Khin'Vagh
I've tried to model this ship, but it's shape is to compex for my current abilities.

Cool ship, it might be a good one to make for Project ACOM.

The Dawnstar class has been my favourite for a long, long time. :worship:

EDIT to add: I also really like SJ's Davids class lately. Just makes more sense than the Surya class. :D

wow , stacks, that is a killer ship, very nice!

did anyone ever see some drawings that were made for a Klingon-federation hybrid vessel? (meant to be made as one of those joint-project things, like the Euro-fighter and the tri-nation frigate).

Have only seen it once, but it really caught my imagination (and has been impossible to find again)

I've posted the pic you provided on the Project ACOM modder boards and the response has been positive so far, so you may very well see this ship made for A2 in the near future :)

Concorde/Nechayev class (I think its the concorde, but i prefer to use Nechayev llike starfleet kid lol)

The Gryphon fighter (i cant remember where i found it, but LT kindly made it for me when i requested it months ago lol, still a big favourite )

Premonition

or the ship Achilles made for the modding contest, the Ibis class, that was a fantastic ship :)

My Favorite Non-Canon Starship? Majestic, you are truly an evil, evil person. Here I am trying to kick the flu and there you go giving me something else to sweat over.

How dare you?

Actually, one comes to mind and I'd post the model of it, but I don't have it on this PC (at the Studio). Once I get to the house, I'll try to remember to post it.

It's a Romulan T'venverex-class Destroyer designed for SFC3. I think the guy who created it was wanting to make a "Prowler" (from HALO) for SFC because this little bugger was 99% undetectable. So long as you avoided speeding through dust clouds, explosions, etc. (Normal Cloaked Rules), BUT this cloak would actually work INSIDE Nebula Hexes and you could use the specialized Tri-Cobalt Mines while cloaked.

You could actually sit right on top of your enemy the entire game and they'd NEVER know you were there, provided you knew how to avoid being "flashed".

The guy who designed it only released it for a little time, but had to remove it since the ship itself pretty much altered every single game mechanic that applied to it, in violation of the EULA. (Plus the TCMs had the explosive yield of a supernova). It was a very nicely done ship, albeit a bit of a power gamer's dream.

It looked like a flattened Shadow from A2. The wings were stretched out so it was nearly as wide as a Sovereign was long, but as short as a Saber. The "head" module was reduced in size to make it appear to have a small, specialized crew. Two barely noticeable Warp Nacelles actually hung beneath the body itself, as opposed to the side where most Romulan Designs have them.

Since this was designed as a "Stealth Bomber", there are no Energy or Ballistic Hardpoints, outside of the two TCM Minelayers at the rear of the vessel.

SquireJames
17-03-2008, 20:50
The ship was too powerful thus it was in violation of the EULA? Or am I reading that wrong?

Lord_Trekie
17-03-2008, 22:39
I think he was saying the ship had some modifications to the game engine mechanics, thus it then violated the EULA...

LT,
I don't really remember (as i say I have looked and failed to find) but i think she might have been called the Khitomer... the problem being that other fan ships by the same name have been bandied around since...

Why, oh why would the Romulans give one of their ships a Klingon name?

StarBlade

Typical Romulan ploy! They are without honour!

Little known fact: the actual name of the Scimitar?

Bad Romulans...make up your own names, leave ours alone :lol2:

I'm sure if you ask the Romulans they have a slightly different story...

Can just imagine them electing a pro-praetor for the Sol sector....

"You may be running it for the moment... but it IS ours... we just haven't taken delivery yet"

"after all you're ONLY human, and your Vulcan allies are merely a rebellious SUB-species of the empire..."

Mine is the Battlestar class ship/station from the UEMC federation in the federations mod. I'm sure there is a picture somewhere of it. Second would be the Raptor class from the same group.

Edit: I found an old picture of it. I don't remember if this was the last design. Syf would have to say for sure. I had to find these pictures off of the old Microverse thread on AFC. They are almost 3 years old. Can't believe it has been that long.

Sorry CF... eww yuck.

One of the enduring nice things about the ST ships are the streamlined and smooth shapes of the vessels (toatally un-necessary in the void of space) but that is just nasty.

Sorry, not exactly constructive but am afraid it is honest, would far prefer to see something more along the lines of an ISD wedge with the docking bays to the sides, or even something more Mon Calamari cruiser... at least slightly shaped...

It's a tie between the Century Class and the Excalibur Class, both look elegant and powerful at the same time.

I have to agree, IMO the Battlestar class is an almost laughable design. But if slightly re-worked, it might be ok.

Majestic
24-03-2008, 16:58
Settle down guys, you may not like the design but no need to rubbish on it.

My favourite non-canon design is the Midway class, and not the one in the RPG but the design Syf was modelling for the fan fiction I never got to complete but may go back to one day. She has anything a 24th century class would need and then some. :)

I love the look of Mad Dog's Reman Praetor Class, as well as Raven Night's Reman Katan and Saif Class vessels, all three of those ships are true warships of Reman design, and I'm so glad that I've obtained permission to use those awesome ships in my Full Race mod for Armada 2!

24-06-2008, 07:56
I'd have-to say the Xenon-Class (Jim Martin's 'Phase II' "Defiant-that-never-was",) even though my second favorite non-canon class would have to be C.B. Lim's "Axis-Class" with the overhead sensor palette addition.

Jasoneagle

Wow a Tough question but here goes...

Incursion Class from A2 (don't think that was ever seen on screen) You could mimic yourself to look like anyone and just about get away with murder with it, so long as no one saw through your holomatix.

I liked Lyran designed ships (making my own models of them now) and also the Q'ud class destroyer for the klingons (I haven't seen it on movies/series so I assume its non-canon).

Hello:
A favourite non-canon fed ship would be the Excalibur class, for me that is the only supership that looks plausible. Other ships would be the Century, the Achilles, the Gryphon and Valkyrie class fighters. I also like the Romulan Gryphon and Shadow classes and the Cardassian Kulinor (from stock Armada2) and the Hutet class (Cardies need a big gun afterall:yum:).

Favorite Star Trek Non-Canon Ship? I can only have one? Okay, then. I choose FahreS' Planck class. Simply because it looks so very gorgeous cruising past one of his black holes whilst pounding the snail snot outta that pesky Keldon which just happens to be conducting its own 'science research mission'. Beauty and brains. Rrowwrrr, if you know what I mean, lol.

Like I said, your looks waaayyy better, and it probably performs about a million times better, as it has a way better poly count.

Mine was made not all that long ago, it was actually the first of my revamp TOS models. I originally made some re-imagined models and then later refined them to be closer to TOS than I originally intended.

I never got around to releasing them, mainly because well I got slack and lightmaps looked horrid on it, caused the images to look all grainy. Even Thunderfoot took a stab at the textures. If I do ever release those models, they will even be non-lightmapped or I'll re-texture them using different textures.

By the way nothing wrong with your model, it's actually more accurate to the original than mine is, as all my TOS models that a Majestic refinement and touch to them. Majestictisement to them, yes Majestictisement that's my new word Majestictisement. :lol2:

The Dawnstar class has been my favourite for a long, long time.Amen to this. The Dawnstar design has grown on me quite a bit as of late.

I also like the K'vek design for the Klingon's, and the Hendor design for the Cardassian's (both will feature in Zero Hour). I also like the Sotek Class (Vulcan Cruiser) too. I've seen some neat Tholian designs about as well, but can't think where they are now.

I love the Galaxy MKII Venture type. She is 5 million tones of butt kicking fury. She may not be as fast as a Sovi but her teeth are just as sharp, and she out masses a Sovi by more that 1.25 million tons which translates into more duribliity.

My favorite non canon Star Trek Ship? The Fek'lhr class light cruiser. Oh wait, she's a 'science' vessel. Which is why we have disruptor and torpedo 'laboratories' aboard. We borrowed the idea of calling her a science vessel from Starfleet.

Yeah, StarFleet - the people who build a fleet of science ships, then decide it's time for a little war and send said fleet against the Union's Galors and the Dominion Bugs. :)

My favourite non-canon ship? There are many I really like, the Griffin for the Roms, Aad's Cardassian designs, his K'Vargh for the Klinkers... my favourite would be the Dawnstar, though. I just can't decide which model I prefer, they are both great.

Well that's a thinker...

Dominion Strike Cruiser from Dominion wars... what an excellent bridge between the bug and battleship :)

The excalibur for for the feds, looks like it has teeth.

Hutet there's a big lady I wouldn't mind taking to the dance.

The century, simple and gorgeous.

Shrike for the rommies, tight design there.

I guess the stike cruiser would be my absolute fav though ;)
