View Full Version : Project to Reopen?
Well here's some good news about this mod (finally), Spectre, one of the original modders who founded the project with CDP has decided to rejoin the community and get the mod going again. The thread he's posting in is over at the Modding and Editing section of the FileFront forums (I won't post a link). The thread is a poll to see if the community still wants the mod so anyone who still wants to see this mod resume go to the thread and vote "yes".
Unfortunatly, CDP has a large amount of the original stuff, so it may be the case of starting the mod again, but hopefully he'll return eventually.
I for one will be glad to see the mod re-open. dont get me wrong i love having control over 2 sections of the forum. but i have been waiting for a year to play this mod, most of the time we got hit by one disaster after another.
It will be good to get spectre back, and im sure CDP could fiund a few minutes to send some of the work he had. althought saying that i dont think he ever found a few minutes to say "sorry im busy"

I'm sorry, what MOD are we re-opening?
I would suggest looking at what section of the site this thread is in lol, its the Stargate Project.

As I have mentioned on the GamingForums, this is great news, so long as they don't rush it, and make it 'just another project'. Assuming the team take time with this, it could turn out to be something quite spectacular.
Indeed, and I, along with a few other members of Project Acom have already offered our services to this end.
Apparantly CDP has contacted Spectre, and said that once his amount of school work and exams calms down, he'll return to the mod, so it won't have to start from scratch :)
Also, once some issues with his account are sorted, spectre should be over here again :)

His account has been manually activated due to some email problems I have been attempting to sort out with the site, so Dan you may need to contact him directly and let him know his account is now up and running.

As stated Project is reopening, CDP will hopefully be back once his exams are done so at the moment im counting that he will be back
He has asked if he can send me the files but i dont have the space as its to huge to upload/transfer.
At the moment im going to concentrate on getting a website online, once CDP contacts me i will be posting a techtree of whats coming, whats done, and what needs to be done.
Also i would like to know those who were involved in the mod to tell me and state what you do this will be for the website aswell as knowing who is apart of the team.

Have you thought of using YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement (http://www.yousendit.com) to transfer files? They can hold up to a gig and it remains for a week on there before it is automatically deleted.
Its what we use when people sent us large files to upload in the downloads section here.
Also just curious, this website, is it just a simple htm website or are you planning on relocating your forums as well?
The old site was simple html, but i found it a pain to update, so im trying out a few cm's as for the forums, if its alright with you i would like to continue hosting here, if its not fine thats ok i can host our own forums but its a pain to setup like the website :)

I am more than happy to continue to host your forums. Also at some point I will need to have a discussion with you or CDP as I am unsure who is actually running the show, if it's a dual thing I will see about setting up another Project Moderator for this section as Jeddy has been filling in while CDP has been away.

Well i would think both of us, we conceeded the mod, but if CDP can reply its upto him, i had to leave the project due to life issues - which are now sorted.
CDP also has the files id rather it kept that way but im gonna keep more intouch with him...

Longtime no see. Sorry Jeddy as well for being gone for so long. I as well have had problems in the family. My dad has had his 5th stroke in under a year now, plus I moved to Florida to be closer to him.
I am now back to having alot of free time and I have been checking out what all has been going on here since I have been gone. I am glad to see that you are here Spectre! I am also glad to see that my "Think Tank" buddy has been keeping the home fire's burning.
Spectre & Jeddy, I wanted to let you guy's know that I still have copies of all of the files, images, video's and etc. About 9000+ in all and growing still. Happy to say that currently I still have (as far as I know right now.) the largest database of Stargate info. Let me know if there is something I can help with as for anything from the old website, to currently seen in shows or the movie's.
I still hope to be a part of the project. Let me know guy's.

Do you guys use MSN? or is there something better that you prefer? i would like to start using something in real time so if i need feedback i could get a good reply, i know we're not all in the same timezones.
UPDATE on CDP;
I can now communicate with him via sms. He has to do a few exams this month, and he will have some in June. If he doesnt think hes going to be really active for these 6 months then he can burn the files to cd and get them to me.
Once he gets an up-to-date list to me i will get you guys involved with model production and when he does return its just putting the mod together.
Anyway please do feedback/ask anything...

Congrats on getting the project back together, this was one of the first projects I was looking forward to and it's good to hear it now has a chance of being completed again.
Hey spectre, good to see your still here to make the engine work again. I see this mod will come out-and i'm glad for it. Congrats, it's great to see you.
If i can i might help with ideas, although i can't do any models on milkshape or anything, i do have some designs on paper, that i drawed some months or weeks ago. If you are intrested just say so, i will be happy to help.

Its going to be hard due to people's avalibility, i might wait for CDP to come back whenever that will be
I would like to get Human and Goa'uld sides done so when he comes back we can fine twink it for release...

UPDATE:
Hi guys, just a few updates.
CDP assures me he should be more active after his exams, hopefully beginning of Feb. He will hopefully be back and update you and myself on the mod and releasing some teasers for you guys to blow up.
Second update i have is; ive been working on a site, ive put time into this one which is html based, CMS bored me but when i find the perfect one ill change it. Some bad news - Im going to be away for a week from Friday, its work related so im not going to behome for that week
Ill try and keep you guys upto date if not ill see you in a week or so
