View Full Version : Battlestar Galactica: Razor
In case anyone is interested, there is a new BSG movie coming out on Sci-Fi in November on the 24th of the month. It's called Battlestar Galactica:Razor. It takes place during the First Cylon War. And for those fans of the Original BSG, it has the old Cylon ships in it instead of the new Cylon ships. The BSG itself is the newer version, but with the older style Vipers. It's centered around Adama when he was a fighter pilot during the first war. It should prove entertaining.

Now I don't know when it will show in other parts of the world. This is for North America so far. Anyone with details of this outside North America, please post the info.
Thanks,
Syf

That actually sounds pretty cool. it'll hit the rest of the world on the 25/26th when it is inevitably put up for download lol.
I look forward to it, it'll tide us over till season 4 lol :D
Though from reading the article, isnt it the flashbacks that are set in the first cylon war, with the actual movie taking place during Lee's command of the Pegasus?
I'm also slightly confused, i thought Adama's call sign was "husher" not "husker"?
I haven't figured the whole story out completely myself. The Razor story is a bit confusing to me, as I haven't been able to keep up with BSG since it started. I like the show and all, but it's usually on when I had to work. And this year, they seem to have messed up the schedule completely. I was only able to watch 4 episodes before they changed the time and day it was on.
But I am planning to be watching the Razor movie. I think I'll make my job give me the day off "Paid" that day.

I heard they were making a new series set in the Cylon war around Adama, perhaps this may be the mini movie for it like the mini series for BSG.
In the preview clip they shown tonight during "Flash Gordan", I did hear the name of the ship that exploded that looks like the BSG... The Columbia (but also my kids were bugging me and I was on the phone all at the same time, so I could be wrong). It was cool from what I was able to catch. They are doing a great job making this film.

Hello:
For what I could see on Youtube (since they don't show here in Chile yet so far) they are mini-episodes of flshbacks during the first Cylon War and about William Adama's adventures when he was young.
About Razor, I saw the name in those flashbacks too, but I think the main event called Razor will show us the story of the Battlestar Pegasus, specially before its encounter with the Rag-tag fleet.

A distant relative recorded the movie for me and sent me it it.
Woaw... what a movie!
I really really enjoyed the movie. What I found most interesting are the Scorpio shipyards CGIs. as they look exactly like a design someone on a CGI forum posted. It was well animated and it does give some nice hints for Colonial station design :)
Aside from the CGIs: Overall I found the story quite entertaining. I loved the scene when Kendra Shaw trained the Marines in dis- and reassembly of their CX4 rifles and chewed the guy out that screwed up. Especially when Adama then said to Lee "Amazing, you found an XO meaner than Saul Tigh!"
Also, I really liked the screentime of Helena Cain. Her speach was cool. "War is our imperative [...] so we will fight."
Shes definately one of my favourite BSG characters - after Tigh, of course.
i really enjoyed it.
Did any one else see the plough costaltion at the end, they must be getting close to earth.

I thought I was going a little crazy, I did see that too.

the new series i heard about was apparently set when Adama was young, when Cylons were first created.
Tho this was a while ago and has probbaly changed
I watched a few minutes of BSG Razor when it first came out. and i couldn't stand it! i was a little biased though. as i hate the New Series.

Very very good performance from Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen as Kendra Shaw.
So not surprised that there was a thing between Cain and Gina.
Harrowing seeing that massacre.
Had a laugh seeing old Cylons and hearing their voices.
I found the movie good in a lot of places especially towards the end but also flat in others.
