I know that Greathor is / was working on one. He posted a few pictures on GF. I do believe that Major A Payne was once working on one too, though whether he finished it, I do not know.

Go to stargate

you should find what you are after.

Yeah, but no offense to CDP, but they aren't incredibly accurate. I do like the model of CDP's V2, but I think with the last season, we saw a lot of the bottom as well as the city's structure. An update is needed. I would be happy to help with the odf's and such, but thats as far as my skills go. Maybe some glows too for the stardrive. If anyone is working on a model, or anything else that needs an odf or anything else text related, please let me help.


I know that Greathor is / was working on one. He posted a few pictures on GF.

They were incredible. Someone needs to get an update from him.

Greathors designs were great, unfortunatly he seems to have disappeared and no one knows when or even if he's coming back :(

As far as I knew, CDP was to start a new model, but I haven't heard back from him since the original forums went down. Would u happen to have any pics of what greathor's was to look like?

The Atlantis model I made was a 50,000 ply model for BC and the 7,000 oly model for A2.

I however, never did anything with textures, but I mught do that sometime just to get the model out to the public

Last i looked CDP had made and released one.

Hey guy's,

I am currently working on Atlantis as well. It is coming along slowly... but I am getting there. I am thinking that I am going to have to re-do one of the Towers in the Pier section because of what has currently happened in the first 2 episodes of season 4... but I don't know. We will have to wait and see.

I will get pic's up as soon as I can.

There is a really nice one at Sci-Fi meshes. The poly count is unbelievable, but a poly reduction might be possible. I would like to see Greathors though.

I think the missions with the Alterans will take place before the show, so the model should be the original one. At least that's what I think.

I cant download it, does anyone already have it? It looks perfect thought. If we could convert it and reduce polys, cause its almost ridiculous.

Still a little ways off, but getting there. I think I am going to need help in the text area tho. I will get some pics posted as soon as I can, and I am still gonna need the help of my "Think Tank partner" Jeddy..and CDP with some of this on Atlantis.

By the way my Think Tank buddy and CDP.... I seen this... aahhh "Image" .... :wink: ... of an Orion Class ship Landing and sitting on one of the arms of Atlantis... And it fit's!! What do you think about that? Any Idea's?? :drool:

Cool. I'd be happy to help with or do an odf. Not to brag, but I am getting kinda good.

As for the Landing ,we can simply edit a hardpoint on one of the larger piers to be free floating and serve as a dock, although if the ships were rescaled, it would look something awful. Just a thought. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Yeah i havent seen CDP aroudn for ages, and im normally here.


And Gary, as much as we all love your enthusiasm, CDP was the one with all the stuff - if hes not here, nothing gets done!

Yep, We are still here. Sorry about the delay in posting on Atlantis itself, have had a family emergency here. I have started sending emails to everyone to figure out who is working on what and what needs priority work done and go from there so we can start getting this baby crackin!! :lol:

Well, what I need and want to do on one version of the model is to have Drone's, Railgun's and Shields.

The second version to have just Shields and Drones.

If you both wanna help out that would be cool with me. I am just doing the City and from there on I will need help with figuring out how to work the jumpers being used and/or just built, all the way to it going in and out of Hyperspace.

Another thing that I have been wondering is if an Aurora Class Warship can land on one of the City Pier's ..... or no way...??

What do you all think?

Hey, I can do the odf's and weapons. I had just recovered from a wonderful hard drive crash due to my brothers love for prison porn... So it may take me a few days.

As for landing on a pier, it is possible. Just have an elevated build hardpoint perpendicular to the base of the pier, so ships can just sort of glide right over. Let me know if it works. I also need a model of the city in 3ds to make sure I use the proper hp's and etc.

You could use a fusion weapon so that the Aurora Class could "dock" to the city, and then the replaceweapon in the Patch Project to seperate them again.

Idk about that. I was thinking have the city fuse with a free-floating zpm to upgrade it. I'm sure the floating hp would work fine.

I was thinking and I know my Think Tank buddy and I were already talking and planning this from the last site, was to have it setup that you have to have so much in resource's and then research and build at a VERY slow rate a ZPM to have for the City.

That is still the plan Jeddy, Right?? Or are we changing that now?

Have the city fuse with a zpm. Have a zpm buildable from a seperate facility. Then use a puddle jumper with a tractor beam drag it to the city. Then have it combine with the city to upgrade it. I've almost got all the bugs worked out. It looks promising.

Tbh I think this is the better approach, after all, puddle jumpers don't have tractor beams lol. The research approach just makes more sense.

Better question - why is the ZMP 3x the size of the jumper :lol:

The effect on the drive pods is most likely due to the lack of a correct sprite entry for the glow.

i dont see this idea working out too well, i mean we know ZPMs were built in spac, they were built in atlantis (somewhere we think) while the humans would have to scavange them, the lanteans wouldnt,

I agree. I think we need to figure out how to use a Research Facility to create the ZPM's. As soon as all the resource's are available, the facility can then VERY slowly start creating one ZPM at a time and it will cost alot to just create one of them. Lets say as a possible starting point to go off of, 50,000 Metal, 50,000 Energy/Dilithium/or whatever the energy source will be called, and you would need to be at a point Technology wise to be able to build certain ships, stations, and researchable abilites that you could build one.

That is the route that I think we need to go with to be honest. :sweat:

Sorry Jeddy :oops:... I thought you remembered that talk between CDP, Myself, and everyone else about working it this way. I thought I remembered you being apart of that talk. I could have sworn you were! :(

Now.. idea's, c&c, I need to know what I should add for the Model for in game and what can be left off.

My current poly count is .... unknown because I forgot to look.. :x

Nice pic, though from the look of it that model would be faaaar to high in poly's for A2 to use. If you can leave the buildings on and get rid of the little extra bits that no one will notice ingame, such as little structures scattered around between the buildings, then that would lower the count.

Model looks great - all I would say is as long as you can get the model under 8,000-9,000 polygons it should be fine.

Some people mite say this is too high but It's not like theres going to be 100's of theses on the screen at once.
