Well I noticed this reply in a other thread and thought it would be interesting for a new topic.
But I would prefer a crossover from another show.
As seen in Nemesis, Picard refers to Janeway as Admiral and to be honest I cant see Janeway leaving Voyager after everything they went through by choice so Voyager might have been ordered retired from service so all the Starfleet engineers could get thier hands on all that Borg Tech which would leave an opening for Chakotay assuming Starfleet will drop the Maquis charges but I dont know what rank he was before he left Starfleet to join the Maquis in the first place.
I would personally like to think that the charges against the former Maquis on Voyager got dropped. With the Maquis gone, the Cardassians beaten that Starfleet would just drop the charges. Either that or Janeway used her influence, informed command that without the Maquis crew members Voyager would of never got home and managed to get rid of the charges.
I would also like to think that since we know Janeway was promoted to Admiral, that Chakotay got promoted to Captain of Voyager if the vessel wasn't decommissioned for the engineers at Starfleet Engineering to poke at.
As for Chakotay, I believed he was a Lieutenant Commander, thats just a guess, but considering in VOY he had through the entire series a rank of Lieutenant Commander (have a look at his provisional rank on his collar) that it would stand to reason when Janeway gave him a field commission that she gave him his old rank back.

Makes you wonder , don't it? I still think ol' "Mister Pickerd!" should have made Admiral long before Janeway , but that's just me....
I do think the Maquis charges would have been dropped for Chakotay and his ilk , but here goes another brain buster...
What about the crew from the Equinox that transferred to Voyager? I'm fairly certain that their violations of certain Regs of Starfleet Conduct would get them at least a few years in New Zealand (at least until my people conquer the Alpha Quadrant...BWAHA!!).

Think how many other species she would have had to contend with compared to Picard.
What about the crew from the EquinoxPersonally, I would have thought they'd get the same treatment as the Marquis crew. They've effectively a part of the Voyager crew now, and Janeway punished them already.

Had I been on Voyager...I'd been like...just drop me off somewhere. I've had enough of the Borg. Five times this week already? Jeez.

But still though , they killed innocent lifeforms to get home quicker. Not exactly Prime Directive material , hmmm?

Picard has been offered an admirals position several times in the show (cannon), most notably was the head of the academy, but turned it down every time, saying he would be more useful on the bridge of the Enterprise (and he had the cheek to have a go at Riker for not wanting a promotion).
I do think the Maquis charges would have been dropped for Chakotay and his ilk , but here goes another brain buster...
The marquis were pardoned, it is in one of the episodes where they start to get letters from earth, I believe its the one where they find out all the marquis have been killed by the dominion.

If you read the book "the Farther Shore", you will see they dont get off lightly.
For the continued adventures I would read the following books (while they are not cannon, they are quite good)
The Farther Shore Bk1
The Distant Shore Bk2
Spirit Walk Bk1
Spirit Walk Bk2
The "A Time To....." Series
If they don't get off too lightly, and you've read the books, perhalps you could enlighten us as to what happens. ;)

Most end up being put in jail (the same one Paris was in...) while the rest (I can't remember names) end up being assimilated by a new borg queen on earth.
Thats all I'll say, so I don't ruin it for anyone reading those books.
A Borg Queen on Earth... Ok, now this is getting slightly stupid.. Yes?

No. :) Read Homecoming (The Farther Shore Book I) and The Farther Shore (Book II). Then you'll see. By the way, it's Christie Golden that has written those two books. :D

There is a new set of books coming out (cant remember the names) that answers the questions about what happened to the collective after Voyagers smash and grab party (Endgame), the books are said to include the crew of the Enterprise E, Voyager and Defiant (set after Unity), should be quite good.

Hmm, You could be thinking of "Resistance" as the first book. It does include all that, and it's very good!
The Borg are more vicious, they attack on sight! :o And their attacks are extrememly bloody, + it gets very clear that the Collective are after revenge!

Reason why so many people like them Excelsior is that they are one if not the best bad guys in Trek history, the only ones that would rival them are the TOS/TMP Klingons.

if the Borg were real the would probably kill me but their soooo inefficient they should assimilate only the races that are worthy of assimilation
-Vulcans-logical very smart
-kilingons-very strong
-humans-we can adapt to anything probably

Actually they do, I recall in Mortal Coil (VOY) Seven mentioned the Kazon were not assimilated due to not meeting the Borg standards. What a bunch of discriminators.

ha ha ha ha :lol2: yeah but can you blame them the borg are ugly enuf and put the kazon in them ewwwwwwwwww my eyes they burn ugly borg kazon
:lol2:
Personally I assume that they did indeed promote Janeway... but mostly because they couldn't well cashier the incompetent whining bat after she miraculously survived the trek back (mostly thanks to pure fluke and the efforts of some very inventive writers)
I can only assume the role she was made admiral of involves a lo of paperclips (and therefore the rest of the federation has forgotten what they look like because of supply issues) and her future involves propping up a burger stand (all she was ever really good for)
Some of the later books apparently say more about the other crew... paris and his family move in with his dad for a while, then she goes off on some spiritual thing and he ends up being questioned by sec forces.
Chak and seven presumably get it on as the show implied they would...(and i there is any justice he does indeed get confirmed as a ship Captain, but that seems highly unlikely considering his background, even StarFleet fluffies aren't that likely to turn the command of a warship over to a man who has knowingly and repeatedly committed acts of treason.)
Neelix presumably hits the lecture circuit...
Kim continues to whine pointlessly...
and their doctor gets disassembled to find out better ways of making an EMH who might not rub the crew the wrong way for the first few months of service...and maybe even have some idea of duty before self-aggrandisement.

Canon disagrees with you, Creed.
Nelix stayed behind in the Delta Quadrant.
The Doc was long declared a sentient life-form, like Data.
As for Janeway, I say it would take someone with quite the set to surivive what she's been through the way she did.
As for Chakotay and Seven Of Nine, I say we let the non-canon books decide. Same in regards to Harry Kim. Alright?
@All: While I've not read the books mentioned thus far in this thread, I have found one thing that continues the adventures of the Voyager family, the Virtual Voyager Season Project. I don't know about you, but, IMHO, the Voyager class Voyager-A is quite the looker.

Actually, the Kazons didn't met the criteria Borg use to assimilate someone because the Kazons didn't have any technology of their own (what they had was stolen), and the Kazons was even weaker than humans (no offense).
Then Borg choose who to assimilate, they check both the technology and the biology to determine their worth.
Humans barely meet the biology part, but def. meet the technology part. And that's why the Borg wants them (the humans) so much.
And about how the Borg look like, they value efficiency above looks. The skin color is caused by their resistance towards most radiation and vacuum, to mention some.
Alright, back to Voyager: True, Voyager survived because of their skills. But we must also remember that Voyager got a lot of luck with having the right resources at the right time, and a lot of help from others.

Sorry doesnt happen, all the tech is taken out of Voyager, and to quote Admiral Ross "She is just another Intrepid Class ship"
and i think chakotay became a captain or a professor at the academy
He became Captain of Voyager, with Tom Paris as his 1st officer
as for the doctor well with that man's determination 2 be better than a EMH
He joins a Federation "Think Tank" with 7of9

Nope it was actually a Field Commission of Lieutenant Commander. You can tell by his pip. Field Commission pips work the same was as normal pips. They use bars in the oval instead of separate pips.
He had two gold and one black indicating Lieutenant Commander. It was the same throughout the series. Many First Officers star out as Lieutenant Commander (Riker on the Hood another example) and after a certain period of time they are usually promoted to full Commander. This isn't the same in all cases but from what I have seen and heard it seems reasonable that it occurs quite often.
So yes Chakotay was a Lieutenant Commander throughout Voyager, I never knew until I took a close look at his collar pip and did a bit and Internet research sometime ago. Its a common misconception that may (including I at one time) make.
