Well , I didn't see a Galaxy Quest thread up here , so I figured I'd start one because I can't sleep and am worried for my girl and her friend's family.

I loved this movie. I actually passed on the '99 Trek Convention in Memphis,TN to go see it , since nobody was willing to go with me (some friends, huh?). My favorite part was Guy saying, "HEY! Don't open that! It's an alien planet, is there air?! YOU DON'T KNOW!!" and proceeds to hold his breath while Fred Kwan/Tech Sgt. Chen tested out the oxygen.

I know the whole basis of this movie was to poke fun at SciFi Fan-dom , but it was actually an enjoyable ride for me. Plus , the NSEA Protector was a hum-dinger of a starship. Think she could take the Enterprise-A and win? Don't know. I'd like to see it , though. Any thoughts?

Yeah it was a great movie, one of my favourite comedies. It's part of my DVD collection too.

I got to thinking about this movie the other day and I think it'd be neat to see the N.S.E.A. Protector in A2 or SFC3.

They did an interview with Tony Shalhoub (sp?) a while back and asked him about GQ2 and he said "Nothing is confirmed as of right now , but I would do it in a heartbeat."

I'd love to see a sequel. Heck , I'd love to see them turn this into a TV show (for real this time).

At least until we get a new Trek series.

Ask me again then.

Thers one on SFC3 Files or Battleclinic I actually had it converted for A2 but lost it a while back. If I can find it again and get permission I might see if I have time to release it here.

Agreed. Love this film, Wouldn't normally buy comedies, but this is one of the few that I own. Would really like to see a second film. Tim Allen rules8-)
