Basicly i cannot for the life of me texture my models, so basicly am looking for a volunteer to do so. If any one is interested please respond here.

Hi Ezaroo

I just started the Ancient Cruiser today. It'll be done tomorrow and I'll post a pic of it. You cant tell me if you want something changed. Oh and I manged to reduce it by about 500 polies without messing with the external look.

well i have a similar problem i can use photoshop well enough but what i cant do is turn the 3d model into a two dimensional image if anyone would be willing to do that part for me i could make the textures myself

yeah, im using paintshop (as i have a severe absence of photoshop)

on my laptop i have a link to a "continuous metal plate" texture, which i started to follow, before realising i am using the most annoykng and pointless program, if u like i shall see about getting that link to you.

but creatign textures is a pain in the behind, the most intensive thign i have done is chopping up one of CDPs so ye..

I would suspect Milkshape would be the best to make a 2D image of a ship as it allows you see the top, front and sides that are not in perspective. So they would be flat.

ye but its not as simple as having a 2d image it has to be a uv map and i cant get it to work in any of the programs i have

Ohh, I never did learn how to do that. Sure would make the job faster but i just sorta make the texture as I go and force the faces onto it.

if it helps there is a UV mapping and texturing thing in wings,

tbh i cant explain it well enoughtso look out for a tutorial or something...

u do use wings right duffman?

ye and i can get a uv map and extract it to texture it but i cant get the texture back in to put it on the model and it wont convet into anything after i make the uv map i'll look for some more tutorials today

lol one step at a time i had a go at doing that before with milkshape i think but i couldnt get it working properly lol i still have a lot to learn

Indeed I can. Though, CDP might want us to just send it to him. I'm not sure. But I'd be more than happy to hardpoint it and convert it to SOD for ya.

Yeah see wat CPD wants but i would just like to give it a test in game see how it looks etc then send it of to CPD knowing it looks good lol. I have one request when u hp it can u make a hp right in the middle circle on the front of the ship and one on the circles on top of the bits at either side apart from that, where ever u like is fine

I haven't forgotten you, Just been really really busy. I tried to export and add the hardpoints, but it seems that I cant import a .3ds and texture it and then export it as a .3ds and import it into milkshape.

I think we might just need to send them to CDP, I could send them back to you all textured if you like. I still only have the one ancient ship thus far. I'm going to try and get anoher one done this week. Sorry this is so slow.
