View Full Version : Trill Society
Ok, after just watching a DS9 episode I had a couple of thoughts.
Do Trill symbiots have an infinite lifespan? as I know they can die, but havnt heard of any from natural causes.
And
Would a host with the oldest symbiot be considered the wisest and possably be the leader of Trill society.

I do not believe they have an infinite lifespan. If they did then there would be alot more of them for the Trill. I think thier lifespans are greater then a humanoids b/c they are not exposed to the elements as thier host would be. Your enviroment has alot to do with your lifespan.
As far as the other question. I do not remember hearing alot about who is the leader of the trill. But I think you can agree that just b/c someone is older. It does not make them wiser. Thus, I do not think the oldest Trill would automaticly be the leader. The wisdom one has is based on life experiance. Not the length of that life.
There is my take on this subject.
Good point on the lifespan, would explain why being joined is so serious and rare.
Wonder How old they last or if they have a limit to the amount of hosts a symbiot is aloud. As it would certainly be a risk for a host to take on a older symbiot as the host dies if the symbiot is removed if I remember.
The Dax Symbiot lasted for 300+ years.

That is a good question. But I will have to wait to answer completely b/c there is a strong storm headed here and is suppose to hit for the rest of the night.
