Example: you saw the USS Pheonix in TNG (The Wounded) or USS Equinox in Voyager, none of the ships the shows was based around Enterprise,Defiant & Voyager.

TOS/Movies - USS Excelsior during ST6.
It just looked so much better in the final movie and Voyager episode Flashback was a real treat.

I will have to go the same as you, the Excelsior was pretty good. My all time favourite being an Intrepid class which a series is based around so can't be chosen.
