View Full Version : STF:RW General Chat
Welcome to the General Chat room for STF:RW.
Here, viewers and the Author(s) can interact.
The First episode (Pilot) will be posted in the next 4 Months (unless something in real life interfers).
Hmm . Federation V Terran Empire , This is gonna be a great fight ;) , Both sides have equal ships with minor differences ( Terrans have stronger weapons , while Federation ships have stronger shields and sensors )
Looking forward to this :) , should be very interesting
It's been something I've been "entertaining the idea" for some time now. I hope it proves entertaining.
So do i , my need for destruction has resurrected itself and i am looking for a war on here :D
You want a war, a war is what you'll get. The story will cover both sides of the conflict.
Just an update.
The next couple weeks are going to not give me much time to complete the first installment of STF:RW. :cry2:
But I will work on it, and get it up as soon as possible.

Looks good Syf, a nice teaser.
Thank you.
There will be lots more when the first episode is released.
:D , Cant wait for this , Terran Empire V Fed , both have the same ships ( Scratch that , Same Hull , Different Ship :P ) , each with its own destinct capabilitys , Both wanting the other to hurry up and explode :excited:
Waiting for this with weapon inhand Syf :D
It's coming. I'm hammering out the details of the storyline.
I can tell you one thing... USS Boseman!
I will say nothing more, so don't ask. Just have to wait a bit longer to find out what that has to do with anything.

As in the Boseman from the TNG episode "Cause And Effect"? Hmm, now I guess I ponder how she fits in.
Yes, that's the focus of a portion of the storyline.
Nice :D , Nothin like temporal ;)
Cant wait for this , i wanna see some bloodshed :o
I can't promise actual bloodshed, but there will be destruction of property.
That does me fine :excited: , Destruction of ships means a lot of cannon fire ;) , as quoted from Pirates 2
" Justice will be delivered with cannon aid and cutlass "
Blow em apart
Just a little update.
I am not going to use the USS Boseman idea. I'm going to go with an original story theme. I apologize if this disappoints anyone. By doing an original theme, it'll make it easier to do.

See on the one hand, it would have been intriguing to find out how you used it, and on the other hand, original may work out better as you dont have to work around established 'canon'.
looks forward to reading it :)
sounds like a great idea, a lot of real dramatic conflict to be had in the clash of cultures here.....
and the clash of heavy ordinance
:P
Yes, a lot of heavy ordinance...
I hope to have the first installment up within the month. Key word there, hope.

There was a peaceful Federation that had some slight differences to the "Normal" universe. But in this Alternate reality, the Terran Empire from the "Mirror" universe had found a way to invade, crossing the barrier that seperates the universes.
Question: does this alternate reality have it's own, discrete Mirror Universe, or is it using the same one shown in actual Star Trek?
The differences in the "On-screen" Federation and the one here are more aesthetic than anything else. It is more because they've had more conflict in their history. The Romulan-Earth war lasted a bit longer, and the Klingons are still a major threat at the same time, as their moon didn't explode, so their economy is still strong. Also, the incidents of some of the movies and "TOS" Star Trek era didn't happen, or happened differently. So, they have a bit more military strength than the regular Federation. The Mirror Universe is the most aggressive of the possible "evil" mirror universes. The advanced constitution class "Defiant" (from TOS) was never destroyed during the "Enterprise" era. The point of the mod is "What if".

Sounds interesting - does this mean there may be klingon map units popping up to reak havoc?
Though I do have to ask - the TOS Defiant wasn't destroyed during the enterprise era was it?
Certainly, it wasnt destroyed at the end of the episode, when arriving at Earth, and Hoshi declaring herself empress... it wasnt destroyed on screen...
Actually no, it wasn't destroyed on-screen. But it should be presumed that is was quickly dealt with by either internal fighting, or the Klingons or someone else, most likely the Tholians. I say this, because in Kirk's era, there was not any major difference between the normal Feds and the Terrans seen on-screen. Which means they didn't have time to reverse engineer any of the technologies.
In Rift War, you'll see that the Terrans have a bit more knowledge in building ships... Thanks to some reverse engineering. But don't worry, there will be balance.:silence:

aah i see... sounds intriguing... and like the terrans may have slightly more powerful weapons.
i notice no answer to the klingon map units... suspicious lol.
I can't say at this time. I haven't decided "whom" will pester the fleets... Most likely not the Klingons. They are a bit too common.

probably for the best. Has to be some surprises after all :)
maybe the romulans i guess... i can only imagine that they'd be interested in technology from another universe...
I'm thinking more on the lines of the T....! Oh now, you almost tricked me! I'm not going to say.:p

I got it, too. But I keep quiet. :)
Well I hope so. I wouldn't want that "cat out of the bag", yet.
I just thought I'd throw a bone out here. I am working on a Feb.'08 release date for this. This is not going to be as big or long as I had first though about doing.
The mod is also expected to follow shortly afterward.
