Macs are meant to be more stable, reliable and immune to viruses but they are also a lot rarer than PCs so less viruses are likely to be designed for Macs. I'm sure if people wanted to a virus could be designed to obliterate a Mac just like any computer.

Each computer type has its advantage.
Intel: Good for offices and work because of multi-threading.
AMD: Good for gaming, plus they are quite cheap.
Mac: Good for graphics, plus they look stylish and a bit different.

I have an Intel but the next computer I get will probably be an AMD for the reason stated above.

I decided to add a poll to this thread, it seemed approprate.

I have always had PC's so I would have to go with them. Never used a MAC personally. I have also has Intel PC's never a AMD.

From how I understand things. Macs are alot better when it comes to performance. But as stated before. There are alot more PCs out there. If more things were made for Macs and we did not have this Monopoly of Microsoft. PCs would be the rare item.

I think there is nothing in it aside from personel preferance.

PCs have the overwealming advantage of compatability, but with some Macs now running windows thanks to Intel, so that they can use windows only programs like more modern games that monopoly PCs hold may soon start to diminish.

So it comes to preferance, performance is a pointless question as both of them run different programs as it stands, so to get an accurate and fair comparison is a bit tricky.

With preferance, Macs generally look good, physically, but there are plenty of Pcs designed with style in mind now. For customization, PCs are better with a much larger supply of components avalible and I believe, more can be changed, although Macs can still be upgraded should you choose.

The main difference, is that the majority of PCs, comprise of a tower and monitor, whereas with a Mac everything is intergrated. The issue arrises, PCs are cheaper to upgrade, as you can keep your monitor if you replace your tower, rather than replacing the entire PC. On the otherhand, you could argue that Macs are more compact and ideal for limited space.

I would always choose a PC, cause I am familar with them, and none of the advantages of Macs are sufficant cause for me to convert. I'm actually happy with the XP interface, and my computer is all silver fronted, aside from an ancient biege keyboard and a cheap mouse, so it's physical appearance works for me too.

ps: I have this argument well rehearsed cause one of my friends at school is constantly telling me all the benefits of Macs over PCs.
