• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well poll #3, place your votes and lets see who wins. I bet you were expecting the Light Cruisers weren't you?

Well I thought I'd spice things up and here we have the Construction Rigs, the Candiates are:

  • Federation Eisenman Class

    fconst.PNG
  • Klingon D15 Class

    kconst.PNG
  • Romulan Avion Class

    rconst.PNG
  • Gorn Ofhir Class

    gconst.PNG

Lets see who wins this time, hopefully not Klingon.

Of the designs presented to us for voting, I think the Eisenman Class looks best when compared to the TMP-era. The Klingon const ship looks to primitive, like something that'd be on Ent. The Romulan one looks great, but to advanced for TMP. And finaly the Gorn appears........
I'm not sure.......something about it seems 'off' can't put a finger on it tho.

On the comment of the Klingon and Romulan construction ships Adm_Stacks, remember the Klingon economy is well shot to hell after Praxis and due to this they have either refitted older classes (instead of producing new ones) or they have brought old classes out of mothballs to fill their fleet and replace battle losses.

As for the Romulan one, I personal think she fits in well with the other Romulan designs we are using. Compare her to the combat ships and you will see what I mean, she may look a little more TLE than TMP but Yesteryears is after all set on the grey area where TMP changes into TLE. ;)

Has to be the Romulan one, shes a beauty.

Besides, weren't the romulans back to being all secretive during that era, and barely any news or intel came out about what they were up to?

Well the Romulans had two exile periods, one after their loss in the Earth-Romulan War which they didn't show their face again until the 2260's (Balance of Terror [TOS]) and after the Algeron Incident and the forming of the Treaty of Algeron in 2310 and they didn't reappear until the 2360's (Neutral Zone [TNG]). Hey thats 100 years apart, you don't think they would again disappear in say the early 25th century and not come out again till the 2460's?

The Romulans did go quiet in the TMP era and we plan on explaining that a little with events from SFB and our own little ideas. We also plan on explaining the lead up to the Algeron incident (may be covered in YY2) and a added reason why the Romulans do their run and hide tactic again.

sounds interesting, can't wait to see it.
During those self imposed exile periods, you'd expect them to come up with new, innovative tech anyway, hence why their construction ship looks shinier lol

Also if you remember ST VI, the Romulan Ambassador was involved in the treachery, so I guess they were a tad humiliated after that and the whole brainwashing thing in ST V.

Once again I'm torn between the Klingon and Gorn design, this time I'm going for the Klingon one :)
