Something different, something still sci-fi related and well we haven't had a poll in a while!

Pffh. Didn't even have to think about it. Sure, atlantis was a great series and all, but O'neill with TWO "l"s starfox!) is probably the best scifi character ever since Kirk.

I love Stargate SG-1, don't get me wrong, but for some reason Stargate Atlantis just appealed to me more when it was on. Probably because I wasn't the biggest fan of the whole Ori storyline...

Ooohh, this is a tough one.

As Adm_Z has said, SG1 has O'Neill, and the original team dynamics are great (ignoring Jonas  ). That said, I wish they'd gone with the original intent and made it a bit darker. And of course, really not a fan of the last two seasons for two very good reasons. 1. They should have tapered off the Goauld storyline rather than bring out an arch evil new supervillan (the Ori). 2. I can't stand Mitchell (and to a lesser extent, Vala - I liked the character but think it could have been pulled off better). As I said, they should have just tapered off the show better, and other than the last two seasons I thing it got better as it went on because of the depth of story, the early "lets go out and solve the universes problems" stories got a bit old.

Atlantis I liked because it was darker. Again it got better as it went on in my opinion and it learned a lot from SG1. I really liked Sheppard and grew to like Rodney. Never a fan of Teyla (she always came across to me as just being unable to act) and to a lesser extent Ford, although he did have his moments. Bringing in Ronan was great. I also prefer the Wraith as the bad guy to the Goauld and Jaffa, and the political alliances made and broken. My problems with Atlantis was that the whole initial concept seemed a bit silly (lets send hundreds of people to a completely unknown and potentially deadly situation - and oh, lets then try to fight a major war), and the ending sucked (though I did like Vegas!).

Universe... after seeing the SG online community slate SGU I was a bit hesitant to get into it, especially as one of the main characters is Eli (overgrown kid - never go with the kids or robots!). However I'm glad I made the jump. It's completely different but I was hooked by the first three parts. Great character development, nice continuing story arc, and very "real" characters. Downsides... I don't like "Captain America", really annoys me, comes across as all high and mighty Mr Moral Standards one minute, then turns and sleeps with anything that moves the next. And speaking of which, why is Chloe even in the series? I thought I was going to find Eli annoying (but I dont, that was a big shock) - but Chloe serves no purpose in the show whatsoever besides being the damsel in distress. My other gripe with the show is the amount of time they spend using the comms stones. They make a series about people being stuck millions of light years away, then spend half the time on Earth. And finally, the series cliffhanger!!! Arghhhh! But, probably the best finale of the three series.

So which - answer is I don't know. They all have their pros and cons. SG1 has some superb single episodes (the time loop one is always great if I want a good laugh), but I wouldnt say its my favourite series. I like Universe a lot, and Atlantis is probably the compromise between the two. So my vote is all of the above :D

I've been watching the original series since my childhood and so my vote has to go to it. Plus, the frikkin' Goa'uld are responsible for me obsessing over ancient Egypt and OHMYGAWD IT HAS PYRAMIDS IN SPACE!
Atlantis had a cool story, and I really liked watching it. A huge plus for making Woolsey a likable character during the later seasons.
SGU, being the obvious Darker and Edgier spinoff (required after the new BSG, and Torchwood being waaay too awesome), felt a bit forced at times, but turned out to be not that bad. Eli was a bit annoying, though - I rather sympathized with Rush.

Universe started off rather bad in my opinion but got much better to a point I was upset to see it cancelled and left at a cliff hanger. Stargate SG-1 I also liked but at season 8 it was getting old. It wasn't until season 9 and with Cam Mitchell coming in that I felt it got a new leaf on life. It really should've had another two season to wrap up the Ori arc. I really enjoyed the last two seasons, more than the earlier ones.

Atlantis gets my vote, I really liked the series and it got better and better, and better yet nothing about beings playing gods that did get a little tiresome in SG1. I also enjoyed the crossovers with SG-1 and having Carter in command for a season shame she wasn't there for longer.

I have to vote SG1. It's the original Series, what more can be said. Yes, Atlantis and Universe were good, but they both got sidelined way too early.the last episodes of each were rushed. You could feel that "this isn't the way it should go".

Terra, I too sided with Rush (since day one). He has a dark side, but understandable since no of the others could comprehend things at his level. If he looked at a tea cup, he seen it for all that it was. A technological marker, an icon of specific societies and cultures, the materials involved in it's creation, etc. Everyone else just would see a tea cup and that's it. I hate to say it, I feel Kin to him, including with feeling surrounded by "Single cell organisms" in my daily life (not speaking of anyone here on MSFC, but rather, my home, my job, my town, etc). Crazyfrog knows exactly what I speak of. He's been here. Simply, when he or I walk into a building here in this town, it's as if the entire Building's total IQ just tripled.

Sample: I was at work one day looking at the newspaper that was just delivered. It had a picture of the Space shuttle lifting off on the front page. My boss at the time walk up behind me and stated "That was fake. It doesn't really go anywhere. It flys up than then lands just to blow Tax Payers dollars." I shot back with "what, there is no outer space?" she replied that if I believed that, then I believe the earth was flat!...

What the heck? So If I believe the shuttle goes to outer space, then "I" believe the earth is flat? Sorry, but she has that all wrong. Because being a man of science and technology means there is no why I would ever believe the earth was flat!

Another sample, I said one day to someone here "isn't that an Oxymoron"? She replied "I am not a moron, you are!"

Another time I said that here, a different person said "I am not a Mormon, I am a Baptist!"...

The Schools here have only one kind of "After school activities"... Sports (no A/V club, Chess club, Spelling Bee club, Jr ROTC, etc... nothing but Sports, and Band which are part of the sports activities... Oops, I forgot one, Ag... how to grow Pigs and crops). So actually I guess there is 2 after school options for kids here. You either fit into those groups, or you are unacceptable in the local social sect. The local kids here that are "unacceptable" have formed 2 other groups on their own. The ones that stay inside playing video-games or the ones that roam the streets doing drugs, causing trouble, wasting their lives. The Average scholastic level here is 37% below the USA's National Scholastic Average. The few bright kids are outcasts here (3 of them are my kids).

Anyways, that's why I feel a connection to Rush. But in the end, the SG1 team gets my vote. I am a big fan of Carter and Jackson. And O'Neill makes me laugh every time he refers to a "Big honkin' space gun".
