• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hello everyone.

Let me ask you a quick question. Who all is still interested in the Yesteryears Mod?
I'm asking because ever since the problem in the community over that "thing", I'm not sure how many are still interested in getting this mod. As everyone should know by now, this is a private mod now, and will only be released to people we consider honorable enough not to attempt to hack/steal the mod's files for their own purpose, nor ever release the mod to anyone not allowed to download it themselves. It's not that we don't want to trust anyone. It comes down to the bottom line that there ARE people that are going to disrespect the many mod makers. That was obvious when people started saying that the people that make the mods have no rights, etc.

Anyways, to move past this, the question is simple...

Who wants to see more of the Yesteryears Mod?

Simply, raise your hands by voting on the poll. If I see enough votes, we will see about making another update release in the near future.

The poll will remain open for 30 days only! So make your vote before November 9th.

Now I'm not going to say anything like a release date is about 8 months away or nothing like that... So don't ask when it's going to be released.

Let me guess: the crowd hasn't roared enough, yet. Let's see just how many people vote without my pestering them.

It's more like a rally... Not everyone visits everyday, unless they're staff.:)

No need to pester. We just want to see how many actually visit, that are also people looking forward to the mod.

I will say, We may plan those that vote yes are getting in line for a possible "download". It may very well be an exclusive download... We'll see how that goes.:)

Of course I vote yes, this mod, B5:AoE and Parallels are what drew me to this site in the first place.

Considering the extreme shortage of TMP era mods (Not to mention good ones among those few) I can't believe there wouldn't be anyone in this site that wouldn't want to see more updates about Yesteryears.

Well if we do continue with the updates, I will no doubt be making more videos. These videos on average take me 6-10 hours to do.

Last time I did one, the Gorn one actually, I got very few responses which to be honest was disappointing and a total waste of time which could of been spent doing the many other things I have on my to-do list.

So if I do make more videos I would like some feedback, even if it is only a post showing support as it makes the endeavour worthwhile. If the same in the past happens again, as in no or very little support I will cut my losses and just post text updates as it's much quicker and saves me a load of time.

I vote yes.
I'd love to see more videos; the ones you've done so far are awesome.
Keep up the good work!

I love the vids, but I also recognize they require an enormous effort on your part Maj, so at least I am also ok with written and screenshot updates.

Any information is good information in my book, whatever best suits you Maj.

I gotta agree with that, the vids are cool, but perhaps don't do them so often? Maybe still release like one or two every one or two months if they take so much time to prepare?

I think it will be closer to one every 6 months due to the time it takes to do them. Updates will be far and few, I have noticed the more information you release the less people respond, so the monthly updates I used to do will more likely become quarterly updates.

i think thats a good plan... it'll keep people guessing, and those who dont vocally show support will do so more, rather than become complacent - thats my opinion anyway. i reckon you'll get far more feedback after new updates too that way :)

that said, i'd rather know more sooner :D

We are working on it much more slowely now but it won't be cancelled, it has to the general public but those of you here that support us, the rights of modellers and modders (to control their work) and those who we believe will not re-release the mod in part or whole then its a bright future for you indeed.

I think the poll results who really. They're all positive. Majestic, your part of the project, so your negative poll input doesn't count. ;)

Regardless, even for the private release, you should still make updates for the project. Let those people who will be having it know what is going on. You don't have to do videos, just news. :)

So your saying I don't count. :cry2:

I clicked that no option as I was sick of clicking show poll results all the time. Plus I am the mod creator so I really didn't want to influence the yes with another vote, so yes my vote doesn't count. :p

I'd consider sending you electronic brownies, Syf, but I don't have any of the gadgetry from Tron. Thus, no conversion of brownies to electronic format.
