• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Syf and I are always up for input from the people who follow and will download this mod, so we would like to ask some questions on occassion to see what the majority will like.

These are generally features or ideas we are considering of adding or taking away and would like to know what you all think.

First up on the list is repair stations, do you think it's worthwhile to have a yard solely dedicated to repairing of starships and have shipyards only build ships and not repair or keep it as it is. It's something we were doing before the transfer to FO, but after playing FO online a bit I am not quite sure whether to use them or not.

I think having repair stations with yards without repair could be a nice faction-specific unique idea :). It allows you to have a dichotomy too of having nicely protected main base yard structures, and expansions with possibly fragile repair facilities.

This separation of the drydocks used for repair from the slipways used for new construction is a very good idea IMO.

You could run a veriation. Have all "new construction" ordered at the yard but arrive by warp in and have the yards do the repairs. After all in reality you wouldn't want new construction going on in a warzone.

I'm with Dominus on this, sounds like a way of adding extra character to the different races (but if you had to go all the same way IO'd say keep them seperate).

Might also balance the Federation a bit better in the inital release as they won't be able to afford to spam units if they need to build repair yards and so warp-ins won't affect game-play as much as they do in FO.

Thanks I may make this a Federation unique feature since it also seems very popular among the community here. :)
