• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

[Help] Xbox 360 Auto Sign-in Option Missing?

Hopefully someone here will be able to help, or at least understand what I'm talking about.

I recently created a Xbox Live Free account on my 360 so I could get console patches, game patches, free DLC, etc. The account was made from an existing account on the console. Since I don't plan on using Live much, I want to make it not log in to Live automatically when I load the account. As I understand it, there is supposed to be a setting in the Settings blade of the Xbox Guide called "Auto Sign-in" that let's you do just that. However, the option seems to be completely missing from the console, both in the Guide and the other settings areas.

Does anybody know if the option was removed in a system update, or if I need a Gold account for it to show up, or what? What's really annoying is that I can't just disable the Live part of the account completely and make a new one specifically for Live. Also, if I unplug the console from the router, I get an error message every time I log in about not being able to connect to Live.

Any help about any of this would be greatly appreciated.

AS far as I know the Auto sign-in option if you signing into the Xbox at start up and when the Profile is loaded it will always attempt to Log to Live. you can Check on the XBOX web page (sign-in to your account) from a PC and search the support area and their is a selection for talking to agents for more detailed info. I know however that once the account is linked to live (Silver or Gold) it will always be a Live Account. and a lot of the DLC and such can be used by that account alone.
